fathom
Seems like it's the opposition's 3 and 4 hitters that are killing the Sox of late (Gordon/Butler, Pujols/Morales, Ruth/Fielder)

caulfield12
Big catch by Quentin Berry saves Smyly from giving up 2 runs in the 1st inning. It was about time for some good defense from either Berry or Jackson. Someone's DUE for them...to make a good play, somewhere on the field. caulfield12
2-4, 6.39 ERA for Walters this year. He's actually 1-0 against DET this year....pitched into the 6th both times. If they somehow lost this game, they might be committing hari-kari in DET tonight with all the opportunities they've been presented with this weekend. fathom
Tigers already leading 1-0. Walters is a terrible pitcher. Very, very likely things are tied up heading into tomorrow.

caulfield12
Peralta's range factor of -989 comes into play there. Should have been a tailor made DP ball.
caulfield12
ANOTHER HUGE ERROR. Bad throw by Smyly pulls Fielder off 1B on the sac bunt try by Florimon. Once again, 5th inning strikes again today, bases loaded and no outs for Twinkies. 1 out, Revere hits the ball the one place you don't want in that situation, at one of the corners. Bases still loaded. Tigers escape here without a run scoring, they'll go on to win this game. Edited September 24, 2012 by caulfield12

caulfield12
Twins are in danger of becoming the White Sox if they blow the bases loaded situation. If AJ was catching, it would be 2-1 Twins, lol. Edited September 24, 2012 by caulfield12
caulfield12
Twins and Tigers both looking horrible on whatever the hell just happened on that play. Tigers could have gotten out of in unscathed and threw another ball down the RF line. 2 errors, could have led to a LOT more than one run scoring. Equally bad execution by Twins with RISP, too. Momentum shifts back (somewhat) to Detroit, with the tie game at home and their bullpen with Alburquerque, Benoit, Dotel and Valverde rested. Last year, only 3 of 31 inherited baserunners scored off AL. Should have been ZERO there if not for horrible defense again by the Tigers. At the end of the play, the trail runner got caught out to dry between 3rd and home and was gunned down trying to get back to third. Whoever that was, the White Sox should sign him up for 2013. I think it was Revere, actually, thinking he might be able to score. Boesch threw the ball back in from the seat of his pants, sitting down on the ground.
