Mauer, Willingham and Morneau.

Likely to see Coke or Downs, although both pitched already in the 1st game.

If I'm Leyland, I go with Downs and try to keep the game tied, rather than risking the pretty bad Coke blowing it wide open.

Interesting choice, though.

With all that bad defense and 3 up, 3 down follow-up inning, the Tigers might be thinking they're going to choke away another chance to tie for the division lead...as long as Cabrera is prevented from beating them.

Does anybody want to guess what Al Alburquerque's real name is and why he's hiding his true identity? There's no way a guy from DR's name is Al Alburquerque.

Actually, Albuquerque is a Spanish surname, so it is a plausible name.

Not to be overly negative, but can you remember a series in which the Sox laid down and died, so to speak, and competed less than this past one? It was like three games of blah which is baffling to say the least. Do these guys even want the postseason or would they rather start fishin' and huntin' in a week?

Somewhere in Motown there's a post with the same exact sentiments.
