chw42
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 08:17 PM) Was there conclusive evidence he was safe? I don't know, the fact that his foot was on the plate before the catcher tagged him?
caulfield12
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 07:15 PM) McEwing is as aggressive as any third base coach. 95% of the time, he's safe there. Why he hesitated rounding the bag, I have no idea...then again in his last 2-3 steps, then why he had his right foot UP in the air instead of driving for the bag with his foot on the ground is beyond me. It's like a little of the aggressiveness both offensively and defensively have been sapped from this team because of the losing streak. They're playing afraid to lose, instead of playing to win. kitekrazy
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 07:16 PM) It's a horrible decision by McEwing when you consider the Indians missed the initial cut-off man and he was still out. Stink spreads. What can you do? Sox are really good leaving guys stranded at 3rd.
whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 08:17 PM) Was there conclusive evidence he was safe? That wouldn't get overturned based on anything I've seen, including the angle we just saw. If you made me guess, I'd say he was safe, but there's no conclusive evidence of it. justBLAZE
The most recent slow motion replay it looked like De Aza got his foot on the bag before the tag.

caulfield12
At least Billy Butler showed up tonight. Somebody in the AL is capable of playing with some confidence and swagger, even if it's for a bad team.

Foot was up but he bent it to touch the back of the plate befpre the tag. Maybe the Cleveland broadcast had conclusive evidence, but the Sox one didn't. Even on the last replay they showed, Stone said it "looks like he touched the plate before the tag." Which it does. But that wasn't indisputable at all.
