Cerbaho-WG
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1598923 Why? Womack? Glanville? Simon?
southsider2k5
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1598923 Why? Womack? Glanville? Simon? The Cubs need more never-will-be's to balance out the Astros aquisition of Rick White.
Harry Chappas
The question would be, who pays the deferred money? If this is the cub this is a terrible move. Good to see their two franchise players choi and hill are really contributing this year. When will we ever stop hearing about how great these guys are going to be. I'll take Crede and Olivo. if Jeremy Reed was in the cub organization, he would be the next Cory Patterson. cruz is rolling along as well. Funny thing is, who got sent down from this. Oh the always present august ojeda?
The Critic
Dusty loves the veterans, even the veterans who hit .190 IN COLORADO this year! Nice message to send to Gruntsalot and Karros - "thanks for all your contributions, we're gonna platoon ya now that it's Crunch Time!" Yeah, Hill is gone, Patterson's hurt, Cruz is a yo-yo, Kelton is afraid of third base, Farnsworth ( the "closer of the future" ) is a long-term setup guy.....tell me more about the kids.... winninguglyin83
if Jeremy Reed played in the Cubs', Yankees', Red Sox or Braves' farm system, he'd be THE NEXT BARRY BONDS. Baseball America would put him on the cover every other issue. Peter Gammons would be dropping his name into every edition of Baseball Tonight. Oh the always present august ojeda? I remember when he was traded to the Rockies from the D'Backs. I read somewhere that the Rockies where not paying much for him, the D'Backs were. This is a good move for the Cubs, I'd take Tony Womack anyday over Augie Ojeda. Has Ojeda gotten a hit yet this season? They need Grudz to come back though. I am glad we got Robbie and not Womack.
