I'd bring back AJ. If you start having to chase to find a new catcher, 3b and a righty starter, it's not going to be good.

They can find somebody. I don't think they'll be good next year anyway. I'm ready to move on from the AJ/Konerko Era. AJ this year, Konerko next year.

I think the rotation has potential if its, in no order, a healthy Danks, Sale, Quintata (again, assuming those two are for real), a solid RHP (with money saved from Peavy) and Floyd.

Bring back Youk and Myers. Try to sell Rios' high. Give Flowers a try as a full time starter. Try to get another arm for the pen if possible.

No way in HELL do I want Floyd to pitch for the White Sox again. EVER. not even if he specially gave ME money to watch him pitch.

Dude has an ERA+ of 107 since becoming a full time starter. If that is your #5, that's pretty solid.

Don't really care about his numbers, it's painful to watch any game he pitches. I can't deal with this Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Floyd routine every god damn year. #5, #4, #2... Doesn't matter where he is he's a mentally weak pitcher.

I wasnt going to in all honesty. Did at the last second because this team sucks me back. The bigger point was how pathetic this attendance is in a pennant chase. Sad.

So youre going to fix this by not contributing to the attendance?? makes sense.

Had The Captain of this team not dealt with injuries in the 2nd half of the season I'm posotive we'd have at least a 2 or 3 game lead at this point. When a teams clean up hitter bats around .240, drives in 19 runs (1 less than than the month of may) in the last 2 months of the season while leaving countless runners on base thats the recipe for a collapse. I wish Paul Konerko wasn't Paul Konerko and they moved him down in the lineup, even just a spot down would have been nice.

If PK comes back next year there should be no reason they shouldnt compete...I expect Youk to be back unless they can trade for a 3B. Past David Wright who may not even be a FA there aren't any options on the FA market, and Brent Morel showed us no reason why he should be given the job again. Its possible Youk can come back healthy next year and have a better year. A healthy, or healthier Youk and PK along with maybe some progression from Dayan gives us a pretty good offense next year. Pitching wise getting Danks back certainly helps, but regardless pitching wasn't the issue this year.

Also makes you wonder why the manager is asleep at the wheel and didn't bench him to heal up or move him down in the order.

As negative as I was pre-2012, I see no way the 2013 team will compete. Too many pieces of this team will be gone, health concerns for Danks, Jones, Reed, Sale and Quintana (thought I think Hahn/KW will trade him in the winter) and its an odd numbered year so Rios should go in the tank.

I'm not gonna say 100 losses but easily a .500 team.

.500? What is this year's team? By the end, it might be just 1-2-3 above .500. So you are saying next year is basically gonna be this year again? I personally don't like our rotation.

The Sox never seem to have a sense of urgency. It's like, oh well we didn't beat KC ... again. There's still 5 weeks left in the season; then 3 weeks left, then all those wasted opportunities haunt the Sox when they hit a severe skid. Sox aren't a playoff caliber team unfortunately. You can hear it in Hawk and Stoney's voice.

Hawk said tonight that the games have been brutal of late. Both Hawk and Stoney like all of us fans have been put through misery watching this crap. If not for Dunn it'd be, what, seven losses in a row?

The Sox are slumping right now. They've had a few other slumps throughout the year. All teams have slumps. But this is the absolute worst time to have a slump. It will most likely cost them the division. I don't feel good about this team at all now. I know it can still happen, but Detroit has all of the momentum. The Sox have 4 against Tampa, and they need at least 3 of 4 if not a sweep now. Had they won 2 of 3 or swept Cleveland, the Tampa series would be slightly less imperative.

I think it's probably too late for the Sox, but if they get their heads out of their asses starting tonight they have a chance if Detroit stumbles a bit.

I still think the season comes down to Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week. My gut feeling is that the Sox go into that series at least 2 games back. But, I've been wrong before.

Yeah i've been pretty positive all year, even prior to the season, but this is leaving an extremely sour taste in my mouth. I have zero faith in them winning more than 2 more games this year. We're not going to the playoffs, which sucks. When we beat Detroit to go 3 games up a week ago I was pretty confident we would be in the playoffs but now I would bet a ton of money against it. I hope I'm wrong but I just can not see it. This is a choke, plain and simple. Our record against horses*** pitchers the past month has been putrid, our inability to hit with RISP has been abysmal and the amount of walks issued over the same time period has been frustratingly unacceptable. The past few weeks has taken the entire enjoyment out of this season for me. I turned the game off in the 6th yesterday because it was getting late and I just knew what was coming. It's sad - I had really high hopes and the past few weeks have turned me completely apathetic towards the team.

I agree. I guess what's really telling is that it seems so many of us are not so much angry as we are just disappointed. I went from very excited last week to basically not caring now. I will honestly probably not watch the entire game tonight, and if they lose and Detroit wins again, I may not watch at all Friday.

However, if they get back into a tie after tonight my excitement will increase, but I'm still going to be wary. This team does not look like they can come back. They just look dead.
