Is it true that Konerko didn't want to have that wrist bone chip taken care of over the last couple years because he wouldn't be able to play golf and hockey in the offseason?

Not sure what the reason was, but he definitely declined it this past offseason for some reason.

This sucks man.... On the bright side we were supposed to lose over 90 and battled. Changes have to be made, bullpen is ok gained some important experience, plus the emergence of Quintana gives hope 4 next season. Thanks guys for the cool season even If we choked the last 2 weeks. :gosox

We'll see what happens next year with Dunn. I'm happy to have him produce like he did this season, but I think he can do better. Hard for me to think much about this week with his health issues but it certainly is the case that the occasional 1-for-20 run will just be a part of the Adam Dunn Experience.

I look forward to seeing Rios is in the 3 hole next year. I don't expect much of a regression, if any.

If I'm the manager I'm starting Gordon in the 2 spot next year and hoping for the best. This is whether Kevin Youkilis is here or not. I doubt we get a 3B that profiles as a 2 hitter, but the guy some have mentioned here (Alberto Callaspo, don't know how we'd get him unless he's non-tendered) would probably fit in the 2 spot as well.

Supposedly, it was cleared up last year and not rubbing against one of the other major wrist bones. But it was "floating" around in there and relocated, unfortunately...and it ended up being one of the major factors in us not making the playoffs.

This year, from what I've read, the injections and micro-surgery haven't worked nearly so well.

2008 there was CQ's hamate injury, self-inflicted...this time, Konerko's wrist issues, which are also partially self-inflicted in the sense he didn't get the comprehensive surgery done in the offseason.

Reed needs to get his offspeed stuff over and like Hawk said, generally be able to throw strikes when ahead in the count. Tends to start throwing wildly when ahead in the count and usually will wind up having to lay a hittable fastball in there.

I agree, Dunn is definitely the problem

I would like to see Konerko's post ASB for his career. Of course everyone will make excuses for him saying he's hurt. He's hurt allright. He's hurt this clubs post season chances.

He needs to learn how to not throw every single freaking pitch at the same height. He seems like a very comfortable at bat for hitters, as they know he's not going to throw anything shoulder level or in the dirt.

His pre/post ASB numbers for his career are incredibly similar.
