He's bad offensively, but above average defensively, and he won't make much in arbitration. It's okay to live with a couple black holes on offense if they at least play solid defensively. I think you have to keep him around because you have bigger concerns and limited resources.

I think he was decent this year offensively except for batting average - better than the last few years. More walks, less Ks, more HRs, most career hits, most total bases.

He is definitely above average defensively. Only 7 errors in 698 chances. .990 F%.

Screw stats though, in opinion, mirite?

Well, errors are a subjective stat and don't speak at all to a player's range, but in this case I think the stats are correct in pegging Beckham as having an excellent year defensively.

Barring some ridiculous trade being made by Kenny in the off season, Gordon is going to be back at 2B next year whether people like it or not. With the pitching staff this team has, the organization wants his defense out there.

it's cool bro, I'm sure there will be other programs to watch on TV next year while the Sox attempt to win 75-80 games

Thank goodness this teams philosophy has been successful though. Two playoff appearances in eight years. They're definitely doing something right

2011: .230/.296/.337, .284 wOBA, 70 wRC+, 4.9 UZR (1.0 WAR)

2012: .234/.296/.371, .292 wOBA, 77 wRC+, -0.1 UZR (0.8 WAR)

His offense was just marginally better, and all of it due to his slugging (6 extra homers). Either way, it was drastically below average both years. I think the UZR is flukey though, as it is prone to be over a single season.

His walk rate increased, his strikeout rate decreased, he hit for better power, he had fewer infield flyballs, and he showed the ability to bunt for hits a little too.

He needs to work on his swing more but there is reason to believe he can be a .750 OPS guy still.

Acquire a good second baseman. Keep Gordon as the utility guy. If he plays himself back into a starting job, great. If not, he'd be one of the best utility infielders the Sox ever had.

Best choice. He has played 2nd,SS,3rd.

I'm sick of Gordon. Mentally he is unable to hit at a consistent clip.

His defense is amazing, and the team defense was the best it's been in a long time this year but the bottom line is the offense was a let down, and Gordon was the most glaring candidate. He's had three and a Half years to prove himself and he's failed time and time again.
