They need pitching pretty badly.

Revere to Phils:

MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports that the Phillies have acquired outfielder Ben Revere from the Twins.

It's not yet clear what the Twins are getting in return, but they've been on the hunt for young starting pitching. Revere will presumably start in center field for the Phillies in 2013. He batted .294/.333/.342 with 40 stolen bases in 124 games this past season for Minnesota.

What a great trade by the Twins.

Yep. I think Revere's gonna stick around for a while and hit for a little more power eventually, but he's a 3-4 WAR player at his peak. Worley looks like he could be there next year.

Wow. They might as just build that statue of Theo now. Just when I think he can't impress anymore, BAM, he makes another incredible move.

Source is also insistent that the Royals are not in the Anibal Sanchez market -- not at five years and $70M-plus, where it stands now.

I bet the Dodgers jump on Sanchez now that Greinke is leaning toward Texas.

I love the Revere trade. He is basically Juan Pierre with less power, and the Twins have a 'better Revere' with Aaron Hicks coming up (stronger arm, more patient at the plate) sometime in 2013

Plus 2 more pitchers to help stock the roster

;)
