southsider2k5
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,7092251.story By Mark Gonzales Tribune reporter 10:15 a.m. CST, November 28, 2012 The promotions of Daryl Boston and Bobby Thigpen will cause the Chicago White Sox to search for a minor league outfield coordinator and a pitching coach at Double-A Birmingham. But some changes already are in place, according to two organizational sources. Tommy Thompson, who earned Carolina League manager of the year honors at Class-A Winston-Salem, will shift to Class-A Kannapolis. Working with lower-level minor league players is considered one of Thompson’s strengths. Ryan Newman is expected to take over Thompson’s duties at Winston-Salem. Newman managed at Advanced-Rookie Great Falls and won the Pioneer League title in 2011. Pete Rose Jr. could take over at Great Falls after managing last season at Advanced Rookie-Bristol. Rose assisted Triple-A Charlotte before Bristol started the 2012 season last June. The 2013 minor league staff is expected to be announced once the positions of minor league outfield coordinator and Double-A pitching coach are filled.
