Heads22
I'm excited to see him bat 1-2 with De Aza. Something people will like? He hits well over .300 with runners on third in his career.
greg775
QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 02:27 AM) Exactly. Although we also had Juan Pierre and everybody but a few hated him. I just think Keppinger is not even as good as Teahen, that's all.
chw42
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 8, 2012 -> 09:58 PM) I just think Keppinger is not even as good as Teahen, that's all. Teahen wasn't an awful hitter. His defense was just pathetic.
YASNY
QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 8, 2012 -> 07:27 PM) Exactly. Although we also had Juan Pierre and everybody but a few hated him. I said line drives. I said nothing about weak ground balls and pop ups.
Thad Bosley
QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 8, 2012 -> 10:00 PM) Teahen wasn't an awful hitter. His defense was just pathetic. Oh yes he was. High strikeout, low average, low OBP, no power - you name it. Every offensive stat on that guy was below average. Nice guy from what they say, but his offense was every bit as pathetic as his defense.
Jake
As a White Sox, Mark Teahen couldn't do anything well. Keppinger does one thing just about better than anyone else -- it's nice to have a tool that good.
chw42
QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Dec 8, 2012 -> 11:05 PM) Oh yes he was. High strikeout, low average, low OBP, no power - you name it. Every offensive stat on that guy was below average. Nice guy from what they say, but his offense was every bit as pathetic as his defense. Teahen had a .316 wOBA when he played for the Sox in 2010. That was below average, but not awful.
caulfield12
Except for about 4 months one season with the Royals, Teahen hasn't been a good major league hitter. Period. Certainly not Joe Randa Lite.
Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 8, 2012 -> 09:58 PM) I just think Keppinger is not even as good as Teahen, that's all. Give it a rest troll.

I can tolerate Keppinger being poor with the bat, just field the ball and get the out.

I can tolerate Keppinger being poor with the bat, just field the ball and get the out. I expect Youk-esque D and a good situational hitter that will reliably make contact. Jake
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 02:05 PM) I thought Kepp was supposed to be quite a bit better with the glove than Youk? Seems like no one around here has seen him enough to make a judgment based on watching him UZR rates him as a good 3B in VERY small sample size and more or less dreadful everywhere else. It could be that his best spot is 3B, the sample size is indeed too small, or both. I'm trying not to expect much.
bulokis
SF Giants won with Pagan, Scutaro etc. I am willing to give it a chance. We actually need more hitters like Kep to avoid those games that are so frustating because we could not get that run on 3rd with nobody out. Sockin
Sox make the deal official. 3.5 mil this year, 4 mil and 4.5 the next two. southsider2k5
Yeah, that isn't right Scott Merkin @scottmerkin Keppinger deal with White Sox becomes official. He receives $3.5 million in 2013, $4.0 million in 2014 and $4.5 million in 2015
