Dick Allen
Nice name, but looks like a not so nice player. Released by Texas. Played a few games in an Independent league. Had 1 hit and 8 strikeouts in 16 AB.
Princess Dye
Maybe one day he too can be a sabermetrics exemplar -- and have high RBI totals in an awful season, like dear old dad

witesoxfan
This is like signing Michael Garciaparra or Taylor Griffin. Cool for trivia, irrelevant long-term.

witesoxfan
QUOTE (floridafan @ Jan 24, 2013 -> 05:25 PM) Who comes up with this analysis? Are they really reputable? I really like the way they score Grabe, lol. Despite his poor OPS, Ruben Sierra Jr has a good Iso considering his average - about .120. If you extrapolate that out to a .300 average, his slugging is around .500 or so (given the increase volume of extra base hits that would accompany it). However, because he struck out so much and had such a poor average, his contact is terrible. They also don't seem to adjust for higher levels. I wouldn't pay attention to those numbers at all.
