Yeah eff those guys. It's obvious they have a plethora of better job opportunities and selected bathroom attendant as a career choice. Make that job illegal so those worthless people can become homeless.

It's a pretty s***ty job and it's s***ty that some people are essentially forced to do that. It's usually weird and makes everyone uncomfortable, and they're stuck standing in a bathroom all night.

I've also heard they're there to discourage drug use in the bathrooms at clubs/venues, but I dunno how true that is.

They discourage sex because its harder to get a girl in the guys bathroom. Doesnt really impact drug use, could impact someone oding on floor.

Those guys all volunteer for it if its at a bar. They come to your door with all this s*** and say, hey for free ill do this service.

We had to kick out a few that were peddling coke on the side. Now THAT guy was smart.

I think bathroom attendants are worse than the bums that think you need help calling for a cab, but it's sure close.

I honestly don't think I've ever experienced either one of these things. I knew they existed but I've never run into one. Either I need to get out more or live in a bigger city.

Admittedly I got used to it, but when i first moved to the area it was a little quieter. Just wait till the summer and the motorcycles get going. When Plush was running there was a biker night.

I called the cops on that guy yelling a few times, I went out there and gave him money to move down the street and finally after he came back I popped him in the leg with a plastic BB. Never came back after that.

You forget I was here in July/August/September, so I went through all that s*** too LOL. Now that it's cold, it's 20x better. Not as many idiots blaring with the windows down. But, I always know when there's a concert because 11pm hits and there's homeless guys yelling everywhere. It makes people feel so uncomfortable, you can see them getting their own cab because, you know, they can raise their own hand.

Speaking of Plush, I heard the story about the guy that was stabbed in the neck there and they dragged him out to the street before calling the cops. Sounded like a classy place. Really surprised it got shut down.

Seriously? Look, if this is all they have to make money then that sucks immensely, but too many of them berate customers that don't tip them. That's f***ing s***ty, I don't want to have you looking at me while I'm pissing, hand me a towel from a machine, and expect me to pay you.

I've crossed off a lot of bars for having those guys there.

Same here.

West Loop by the UC has a ton of the cab guys. Bathroom attendants are all over Chicago. Not all bars, but a decent amount.

Ive always assumed that they can all get drugs, I just have a general rule about not buying drugs from someone in a bathroom.

Joke's on you, because you get a free bootleg copy of Toy Story 2 with your purchase.

Ive seriously almost decked the cab waiver downer guy but talk about not worth it.

And the bathroom attendants are the worst. I feel bad for them but I'm not tipping to go to the bathroom. As a previous poster said, they're all around Wrigley now and it's annoying as hell.

Guy was shot in the street on my birthday years back. Hilarious place. The owner was a real piece of s***.

Family drama is the best. My mom had a huge falling out with her family a few years back and now the same thing is happening with my dad and his family and I'm getting bombarded with phone calls because of it. It always starts over stupid s*** too, just leave me out of it.

My stepmom and my dad's siblings had a huge falling out when my dad died. As if things didn't already suck enough.

Sorry to hear that. I know the feeling of being caught in the middle and being a liaison. It's annoying and unfair.

Ha I appreciate it but it is what it is. This keeps getting more fun though. Dad pissed at aunt, aunt pissed at step mom and step brother, cousin pissed at step brother. Supposedly just vicious emails, texts and calls going back and forth. I've just started ignoring every text and call I'm getting from everyone.

Congrats, now begins actual life.

The 20's after you graduate are the greatest time ever, move out, get out, do whatever you want.

For the current wave of graduates - not as fun - since their starting salaries have been dropped to about poverty level. The two entry-level people I hired a few months ago have no plans of moving out of their parents' homes... because surviving on $25k is next to impossible in Chicagoland.

Entry level salaries were so much higher when I graduated just 8 years ago.

My entry level salary in 2003 was 23,000 with a 2,000 bonus. The rent in Chicago in LP where I lived was around 600/person/month.

I also got a bar job on the side on the weekends for extra cash.

It's crazy how many college graduates stay at home with a professional job. It's crazy how salaries are not proportionate to s***.

Yeah let's pay those McDonald's workers $15/hour.
