FWIW, fangraphs places his performance last year at a value of $3.5M and the year before at $4.5M

I am glad we don't have some of our fans making personnel decisions for this team. The salary Beckham just received is not really that high when compared to others. He is an excellent defender and even though he is not a Babe Ruth has shown improvement with the bat. Plus he is home grown and I would rather stick with our own folks

Excited that arbitration is out of the way. I love playing for the @whitesox and can't wait to build on my progress from last year #blessed

I think he's been on the same frustratingly average to below average level at the plate for years now. Maybe he's talking about facial hair.

More power, fewer K's, more walks...it's not unreasonable to think that he could hit .260 next year, and .260 for Beckham probably puts him close to the .725-.750 OPS area.

If he could do that, that's a major upgrade to this team's offense and it keeps the team from non-tendering him at the end of next year.

This is literally make or break for him with the Sox. Arb year 2 will be $5 million plus if they want to offer it to him, so he needs to play like he's worth >$5 million.

Especially with Sanchez knocking on the door, as well as guys like Saladino and DiMichele (who I don't think is going to be strong defensively, but who might be able to rise quickly due to his bat).

Pressure's on him. He has by far the highest ceiling of any 2B in the system, but using the same floor to ceiling analogy, he's basically at chair level right now.

I'm very excited to see what DiMichele does in a full season either in Kanny or W-S this year...

From what I've heard and seen of him, he reminds me a lot of David Murphy. Good hitter, not good enough for a corner (either IF or OF) and not good enough defensively to play up the middle. Hopefully he can improve to the point where he can be an everyday starter defensively somewhere.

Well, with the way 3B has been going lately...

I thought DeMichele did a pretty solid job playing 2B for ASU last year. Anxious to see what he can do at the next level. Sweet stroke...

I am in this corner

I wish i can be in this corner, I want to be in this corner, he just hasn't hit since his rookie year for whatever reason. I hope he can be like a Joe Crede where his bat starts blooming after a couple years of full time play. Gosh an all star type offensive season from Beckham can really make this team good, potentially really good.
