danman31
I wonder how the rankings will shake out. Ohio State isn't likely to lose, but that team continues to struggle against mediocre opposition. As opposed to Baylor, which is beating the s*** out of mediocre opposition. Great week of games to set up a fun stretch run.

Great week of games to set up a fun stretch run. Its a long season, it will shake out. Conference play is a wild card as shown by the SEC this morning and most of the late games. Looong season. NW getting mentally destroyed in Evanston wasnt great. This is why the playoff will be great when they expand it. We only worry about the top 8 teams or so eventually. RockRaines
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 19, 2013 -> 11:38 PM) Until 2 of Alabama, Oregon and fsu lose, osu won't be able to go anywhere. Rose Bowl, not so bad. Still have to win out and so do they. Conference play is tricky and everyone is vulnerable. Matchups make alot of difference. Iowa today had a game plan that OSU may not see the rest of the saeson, but it worked for 2 quarters. Bama is going to play some teams that know how to stop them. This is why the playoffs will be so great. I f***ing cant wait. Tournament formats is what makes college bball so superior to everything.

Jake
f*** it, I'd be much happier with 16-32 team playoff. Reduce regular season length if necessary. Every other level and sport can do it. Eliminate the stupid bowls. You're 6-6, you don't deserve a postseason

farmteam
Aargh. What a terrible final 8 minutes to that game. Two awful interceptions. You want to start making a name for yourself? Start performing when it matters. That game was totally winnable for IU. Games against Minnesota and Illinois, both at home, coming up after the bye week. Better win both of those. Kyyle23
http://m.espn.go.com/ncf/story?storyId=9854222 How hilarious is it that an Oregon coach is complaining that another team is throwing it too much? I don't care if Leach is a douche, Oregon has been runnin up the score and padding stats for a long time Leach is a f***ing idiot. He was down by 38 late in the game and he'd rather have his starter chucking the ball around 90 times instead of giving his backups some experience. I guess Leach is hoping people only see the final score and saw his Washington St team only lose by 24. Congrats on throwing for 2 meaningless TDs when down by almost 40 against the Oregon backups. bmags
QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 09:43 PM) Has nothing to do with being jumped. It's not a shot at Missouri. Not their fault Georgia and Florida are spiraling out of control. The bias for the SEC is comical this year. In defense of Mizzou, though, they were kept out of the top 25 for a pretty long time because everyone knows they are terrible because last year and the narrative that they are not SEC ready and can't beat SEC teams. So it wasn't a surprise to see them shoot up after beating conference opponents even if they are not ranked after this (they were still ranked at the time). But Mizzou did just put up 500 yards of offense against the a defense ranked 4th in country in yards given up. They did this without their starting QB and at points without 2 of their 3 RBs in the game. They also only gave up 151 yards of offense. While FLA is bad, lots of teams are bad at offense and still manage more than that. It was a pretty dominating performance and other teams ahead of them lost. But yeah, long long season ahead. I'm just going to enjoy it now, hope we get some recruits b/c of this. And enjoy that Gary Pinkel knows how to go from the hot seat to the coach of the year seat really f'ing fast. whitesoxfan99
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 19, 2013 -> 08:20 PM) how is illinois' defensive coordinator still employed. just f***ing terrible He should have been fired for the performance of last year's defense. This defense would be awful if Nick Saban was coaching it. There isn't a single Big 10 caliber defensive lineman playing right now (a couple of the freshmen have a chance but they aren't ready yet), we have one legitimate Big 10 linebacker, although Monheim isn't awful, our safeties should be playing linebacker and we are trotting out a bunch of true freshmen at cornerback, only one of which was a pretty highly sought after recruit. This defense has as little talent as the teams at the end of the Turner era had. This is the product of not firing Zook after 2009 and him basically being a lame duck resulting in two horrendous recruiting classes in 2010 and 2011 that produced a grand total of one Big 10 level player on the defensive side of the ball.
