Remember the recent talk about the 1B crowd at CHA and BHAM?

Sox just traded Seth Loman to the BAL org, no word on return (could just be cash).

I'd guess here that Black or Wilkins will go to Charlotte shortly.

Have either of them seen AAA before? If not, I'll be interested to see what they do.

Can anyone fill me in on the end of the Chase Blackwood saga? It seems like Bren disappeared from here and Chase disappeared from the MiLB without a trace.

He got released at some point. That's all I remember.

He had real nice stats in the couple years he spent in the minors, as a reliever, then he had really nice stats as a starter in the Frontier League.

I don't see anything saying he was in the minors. He pitched in the Frontier (Independent) in 2012 and now 2013, but I don't see anything else. Where are you seeing this?

That's Mike Recchia. SS2K5's post you quoted was for Jacob Sanchez.

Don't I feel stupid, I saw Kannapolis signed Recchia and assumed that is the guy in his link. Sorry about that, really a dumb move.

Carlos Sanchez has been really disappointing this year.

He's 20 years old in AAA. Offensively he hasn't been horrible and from reading accounts his defense has been very good. Let him play in Charlotte this year and next and see if he can play in the majors at the old age of 22 in 2015.

Yep, IMO Micah Johnson is a better prospect, and I would put Semien above him as well.

I think you're being a bit reactionary. Sanchez is the youngest of the three and it's not like Semien is setting the world on fire in AA. Sub .750 OPS.

Yep.

Sanchez has a slick glove indeed. He's also the youngest player in the International League. Would be quite silly to write him off already.

I'm just not a fan of a player that projects to have absolutely no power playing 81 games in our park. By no means am I writing him off, I just think Johnson and Semien are better prospects.

He has been horrible offensively. I'm not writing him off, but he has been horrible this year and that is disappointing. By no means do I think he is a lost cause.

He can be an above average utility guy IMO. He's far more likely to reach that level while Semien probably never plays in the Majors and Johnson is still a ways off.

I'm not going to argue he's been good offensively. But I'm not calling the youngest player in the league hitting .230 horrible. There are guys in the majors with worse averages than that. He's 20 years old still. It is way too early to judge him.

No way I'd put Semien or Johnson above Sanchez - yet. And I've been a vocal Semien fan for a while now. Slow it down a bit, we're halfway through his season as the one of the youngest players in ALL OF AAA.
