This game is the embodiment of why you might need to let Cutler go. The offense with McCown and all this talent will score enough, but no offense can score enough to deal with this defense

Theres no fix to the D that wont take years. Either go all out offense and just get into scoreboard wars or enjoy a few years in the cellar.

I like Trestman a lot, like a lot a lot, so I'd like to see them stay competitive so he keeps his job.

Making the defense average doesn't need to take long at all. Young players improve, bring in a big name vet or two, draft a good player or two, fill in with solid cheap vets. A few strategic acquisitions is all you need for an offense this good. You have to have some money for it, though

On second thought, these guys made the worst OL in football suddenly pretty decent. So who knows, I trust them.

It may not happen quickly, but it's the only way to go about things. Have to focus on the defense. Continuing to try to fix this o line should be a secondary focus, but there isn't much else to do as far as working on the offense.

Then what about QB? I mean, Josh McCown as your opening day starter in 2014? You draft someone and groom them? Im not against that idea, and you cant do it with Cutler on the roster, but youre basically saying "give us a year" to a fanbase that cant wait 10 minutes.

Plus by the time the kid is ready Forte and Marshall will be old, so yoy'll need a new RB and a new high end receiver. I dont know what I'd do if I were Emery and Trestman, but like I said I'm on board with whatevet their plan is.

Yeah, if you keep McCown then you're drafting a QB. You keep McCown because you can see that he will play well enough that your offense is still going to be very good. Then you're entrusting GM/coach to make the next QB good ASAP
