Obviously, but assuming SF beats the Failons and the Bears win tonight, would that make the Bears the only NFC team in the playoff picture with nothing to play for week 17? They'd just be the 3 seed, end of story... right?

Kinda gives us a bye week which nobody else has the luxury of being able to do.

Yeah, the Bears will have absolutely nothing to play for if they win tonight. They beat the Cowboys and a win tonight gives them the tiebreaker over the Eagles.

Correct. A Bears win clinches the 3 seed, because they would have had to head tiebreaker over both Philly and Dallas. Every other team will be playing for position or a berth

You mean Philly and Dallas..............Detroit is bye bye. Bears just need to take care of business.

So just so I understand, Bears win and GN is done, right? Next week means nothing? Dont want a repeat of 09-10.

Yes. Bears win and they clinch the North and a 3 seed. Green Bay would be done. Lose and next week is win or go home for both teams.
