cabiness42
I want to see the Bears make the playoffs in the saddest imaginable way: A Green Bay 55 yard FG attempt with :03 left in overtime falls just short.
soxsoxsoxsox
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 11:24 AM) At least we aren't Lions fans, LOLOL. The division was handed to them on a silver platter and they proceeded to throw up all over it. if we lose Sunday it'll be just as bad.
RockRaines
QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 11:55 AM) Jay Cutler will start for Bears against Packers http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown...38348--nfl.html Yeah, doesnt the starter usually start? Kyyle23
I didnt realize Schwartz got into it with the booing fans last night(even though he is denying it today). I guess he is just going out in a blaze of glory
GoSox05
Bears are allowing 5.40 ypc this year. Sixth worst in league history. I didn't realize it was that bad.
chw42
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 01:12 PM) Bears are allowing 5.40 ypc this year. Sixth worst in league history. chw42
Wow, last night's loss put the Bears' point differential to -28.
LittleHurt05
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 01:12 PM) Bears are allowing 5.40 ypc this year. Sixth worst in league history. I didn't realize it was that bad. Sports fans love to overexaggerate and use ridiculous superlatives in describing how bad their teams are. In this case, however, they are all warranted for how bad the Bears run defense is. If the Packers were to sign Dorsey Levens or Edgar Bennett to replace Lacy on Sunday, they would have a decent chance to run for 100 yards, no matter how old they are today. bmags
Really the surprising thing is the only thing worse than the bears rushing defense is the Browns rushing offense.
GoSox05
It's weird to see the Bears this bad at defense. In recent years even their bad defenses were still ok.
Kyyle23
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 01:43 PM) It's weird to see the Bears this bad at defense. In recent years even their bad defenses were still ok. Lovie kept pushing the expiration date back and getting a lot out of what he had, but once that cliff came they went careening over it at 100 MPH
Rowand44
It'd be interesting to see how the defense would have done if Lovie was still around.
Boogua
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 01:53 PM) It'd be interesting to see how the defense would have done if Lovie was still around. With the losses of Melton, Tillman, and Briggs I would guess petty bad. Maybe not this bad, but I think it's fair to say that it wouldn't be anywhere near last year. Peppers getting old hasn't helped either.

Why would the Bears D be any better under Lovie? I mean these are like 3-4 string guys we're running out there.

The lack of turnover creation has just murdered a defense that specialized in giving up some yards, but getting the ball back.
Dick Allen
QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 01:14 PM) It's pretty routine to see other teams run a 5-6 yard play, so I'm not surprised whatsoever. With as many long runs as they allow, I am actually surprised it isn't worse. The Bears defense actually allows on average, the opponents RBs to be 1977 Walter Payton. Agreed. I think a big part of the reason that the defense is having trouble creating turnovers is because the defense lost 3 pro bowlers though. Think about the roster turnover. Lovie had continuity on the defense for many years. He wouldn't have had that this year. Players like Roach, Idonije, and Urlacher were around for a while. That combined with the number of injuries is just a recipe for disaster.

Are all 3 teams still in the hunt for the division crown? The Lions Lionsed and therefore are no longer in the hunt. The Bears or Packers will finish with a better record(9-7 or 8-7-1) than they can possibly have(8-8)
