Spoiled from the Manning years? If that many tickets were unsold, that means a lot of season ticket holders chose to not to purchase them during the season.

Now Bengals fans I can understand, considering what they have gone through recently.

Living in NWI, the bandwagon is huge. 10-15 years ago everyone was Bears fans. Now you see blue and white popping up all over the place talking crap about it being their states team. Please. They are a carpetbagging team from the east coast, who got lucky to be bad when Payton Manning and Andrew Luck popped up.

I went to a Bears/Falcons game on a Monday night (I think, maybe Sunday night) that was 7 degrees, windchill in the negatives. It was a f***ing blast.

That said, I won't do it again!

Just think...this could be the same weather the Super Bowl gets this year.

If only Cutler could find the end zone like Favre...

Let's be real though, Favre put up some absolute duds in several seasons. His worst seasons were sub-Cutler, but his best seasons got you rings.

I always thought Favre had only one SB ring?

@MattSpiegel670

I've got a source I trust on the official cap hits for the Jay Cutler contract, & the numbers are not as they've been reported/listed.

SOURCE: The official salary cap hits for Cutler are as follows:

’14: 11.8 mil

'15: 15.3

’16: 16.8

’17: 18.3

’18: 18.8

’19: 22

’20: 23

SOURCE: Cutler contract calls for a prorated bonus of $10.8 mil for each of the first 5 seasons, adding up to the $54 mil guaranteed total.

That's definitely a pretty good deal for next year.

I really like Byrd and Ward, but that is about it. Whitner is a solid player too.

Lol, Major Wright at 6. I guess his age allows him to be considered a work in progress.

Sorry, I actually didn't mean to link to the safeties, which was one of the better lists. I meant the total D.

First you don't check this thread hourly to see if something has already been discussed, then you screw up a link. Man you are just the worst.

I'm not sure if this is new (just published), or I just became aware of it, but it's pretty cool...

NFL Draft Pick Value Chart

The following chart is used by NFL general managers and coaches when making trades on draft day.

If a team wants to move up from No. 3 to No. 1, it'll cost them 800 points. That means it'll have to trade its second- and third-round picks (550 + 255 = 805) to make the move.

welll.....

@MattSpiegel670 - It appears my source on the Cutler numbers isn't to be trusted. I did say "if the source is correct," but I take responsibility. Apologies.

It's not great, but it's about like it is every year at this time. They're will inevitably be plenty of players cut for cap reasons who could still be solid contributors. Even now, there are some decent players that could help out. I wonder if the Bears would consider De La Puente from the Saints. They're in a tough spot with the cap, and still need to find room to re-sign Jimmy Graham. I could see him re-uniting with Kromer and he'd be an upgrade over Garza.

The Bears problem might not be that they can't find tolerable players, the Bears problem could be that their defense needs guys to make a real big splash/big impact, and there might not be a whole lot of those guys available.

That means the Bears are going to have to put together their defense almost piecemeal in an environment where there aren't a lot of guys to use up cap space of teams that have it. That's a rough situation and it's going to require Emery to have a whole lot of successful hits on the signings he does make to turn that defense into anything better than what it was last year.

I view it differently. I don't think the defense needs guys to come in and make a big splash. They just need solid players who can be dependable. With an average defense, this team is a playoff team. With an above average defense, they're a contender. I think that's very doable. Like I said, we need to wait until cuts are made before free agency (and then again after June 1) to really understand what will be available, but I expect there to be guys who get cut who could be good signings and not break the bank - i.e. DJ Williams last year. Add in a few drafted players, and this defense could certainly be above average again. I don't think they're that far away.

Right now, I think the Bears are extremely far away from an average defense. Farther than they were away from an average offense last year when they spent most of their $20 million in cap space on improving the offense.

They don't even have the warm bodies there right now, and the ones they do have are guys like Conte and McClellan.

Clowney at 14? Yes, please.

Absolutely no way that happens.
