Bears

Bills

Cardinals

Giants

Jaguars

Raiders

Rams

Steelers

8 teams who can be forced to have Hard Knocks. Reading around the net everyone wants the Bears.

I've never watched the show so I don't know the exact format, but I'd have to think it would have been entertaining to have the Raiders do it while Al Davis was still alive.

Came off like an idiot = more or less calling him an idiot

Your impression of him after that interview is that he's an idiot. Thus, you thought he was an idiot. Thus, you thought he was a stupid person. Thus, you thought he lacked intelligence.

Smart people can act dumb, dumb people can act smart, what about that is making it so hard to understand? I've had to say this way too many times for this simple concept to sink in. I have no idea is Sherman is smart or stupid, all I know is that of what I've seen of him, he's ACTED stupid and has LOOKED like an idiot. Those comments are observations, not factual statements.

They are your opinion. You can't factually prove someone's intelligence. FWIW, his wonderlic score was 24.

Also, more definitions!

Am I the only guy here who is finding great joy in watching Senior Bowl drills?

I don't care how short he is, Aaron Donald (all 6 feet of him) is gonna be a beast in the NFL. I'm all in on the Bears trying to trade down and taking him with their first pick(if they don't bring back Melton or another 3T DT).

I've been following a ton of writers on Twitter that are down at the Senior Bowl. They all love Donald.

Sherman touched on the "thug = n*****" correlation. I agree with him.

I still think he's a douche, but there are some people criticizing him unfairly which is making me sympathetic towards him which I hate.

I concur with this assessment.

I also think it's weird that people keep using the word "thug", it's not like what Sherman did was considered criminal or violent.

If you go look up what the word thug means on a dictionary.com, you get definitions like "a vicious criminal or ruffian" and "a tough and violent man, esp a criminal". I don't think that describes Sherman's actions as a poor sportsman.

Dictionary's probably not the best place to go to understand social context.

edit: thug was mentioned on TV 625 times on Monday. That's more than on any other day over the period they looked at (over three years). Richard Sherman was called a thug more than anyone in years because he was sort of a dick to Crabtree and the 49ers for about 25 seconds.

Frankly, there are thugs in the NFL. Aaron Hernandez is a thug. Not because he's black (because he's not), or because he's Latino (which he is), but because he's a murderer, and - not that there ever is a justifiable reason for murder - the logic behind it is absurd.

People should start using the word "ruffian" more often.

Agreed.

It is my understanding that Paul Pasquanelli will be the Bears DL coach(he was previously thought to be LB coach), and Reggie Herring will be the Bears LBs coach.

All their experience at the NFL level have been in 3-4 defenses.

I'm quite curious what's going to happen to the Bears' defensive scheme. It would seem a 3-4 is becoming more likely, but both of these coaches have plenty of experience in 4-3 defense so I still wouldn't look too much into it. Regardless, Trestman/Emery aren't helping us figure it out.

I'm sure we'll just be more multiple next year. That's basically how it is in the NFL anyway. It seems like "being multiple" has been the hot catch-phrase for coaches the last couple years, and I'm sure Trestman will say the same generic coach-speak when it comes to it.
