cabiness42
The discussion about thugs, ruffians, and saying stupid things is fascinating and all, but did you know there's some sort of actual football game in 9 days? I hear this Manning guy is pretty good.

Poking fun at a guy for being dumb once doesn't mean you're saying he's an unintelligent person generally. I think it all stems for subsequent discussions. It was either me or someone else you said that he is not an idiot because he got into Stanford and got a GPA of 3.7. Which in turn lead to the discussion of grades meaning nothing and anyone can get into Stanford if they can play football.

I obviously don't know the ins and outs of Stanford as well as I do Notre Dame, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's not at all true. You probably don't have to meet the same standards as the other students applying for admission, but I have to believe there are plenty of DI-FBS players that Stanford would not touch. Jenksismyhero
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 11:46 AM) ok but like others have pointed out Sherman didn't really say anything stupid or dumb, which is why the BM clip makes no sense edit done with this dumb conversation now I was just responding to your post specifically. I too want nothing to do with this dumb conversation over a guy we shouldn't be talking about in the first place. Let's talk about Captain American Manning instead. He's dreamy. zenryan
QUOTE (scs787 @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 12:15 PM) I can't touch on his other years at Miami, but....The 2006 Hurricanes' defense set a school record for allowing the fewest rushing yards in a season -- 67.9 yards per game, breaking the previous mark of 69.1 yards per game set in 1989....So there's that... Miami had some good defensive players that year. Beason and Gooden playing LB. Both still in the league. In 2007 Miami gave up 134ypg, 2008 gave up 152ypg, and in 2009 gave up 122ypg. Then again, the 2000-2002 Miami teams gave up 112ypg,132ypg,171ypg. So just looking at rushing stats dont really tell much of a story. It's not like he's going to be asked to do anything important as an asst DL coach. Probably just knew the right person and got a job.

RockRaines
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 23, 2014 -> 12:15 PM) wouldnt it be hilarious if there were large visible empty sections of seating? That would be terribly embarrassing for the NFL I personally think the NFL should build their own stadium used only for the Super Bowl. Make it seat 150k fans. Sounds good to me, but the economies of Miami, New Orleans, Phoenix and Texas all pretty much depend on having a Super Bowl every 4-6 years. Would be hard to take that away from three of the four.
