2013-2014 NFL Thread

Recommended Posts

I drove from Chicago to Rochester, NY last summer. Another group went from Grand Rapids, MI to Rochester.

Both drives sucked. The US route goes through incredibly boring terrain through Indiana and Ohio, but it gets a lot nicer in Pennsylvania/NY.

There is literally zero excuse remaining for Jay Cutler not to have an all pro season this year. If he can't do it this year, he can't do it.

Except for being in a brand new offense for like the 4th f***ing consecutive year. Its asinine how much this team has f***ed with him and mismanaged the offense.

Maybe if he succeeded under offenses then we wouldn't have so many coordinators.

But seriously, the mismanagement on offense has been a joke.

Excuse me, learning an offense takes 2-3 years. Therefore, we have "what if's" until Cutler year number 8.

Zero excuse?

What about if his oline sucks and he gets no protection. Even Joe Montana cant play QB if no one can protect a 3-5 step drop.

They have replaced ~75% of his offensive line counting the backups and spent good money on it, they've brought in youth and veterans to go with it. They brought in a top flight O-line coach. They added to the TE spot, they've given him more than a single hot read route.

He's a free agent after this year. He needs to perform now, he's playing for a contract.

In news that surprises exactly nobody, one of Hernandez friends rolled on him

Kind of weird though, Ortiz said that Wallace told him that Hernandez did it. Wasn't he in the car when it happened?

Could have been looking out while Wallace and Hernandez took care of him, and Wallace said "he did it."

Bunch of fun stuff came out about that today, including Hernandez both closing the door on the police when they asked him about the death and him telling police he didn't answer the door when they came because he saw who it was. What a winner.

There have been 27 active players arrested this offseason. That's 1.6% of the league in one offseason. Not exactly the same number, but the incarceration rate in the U.S. is 0.74% of the population.

Unclear as to the reason since it's on appeal but Von Miller is facing a 4 game suspension (I do note that's the "PED length).

So it'll probably come out that he got suspended for Adderall, because the NFL has the most advanced testing regimen for Adderall and a severe Adderall abuse problem.

I thought recreational drug suspensions were smaller

For alcohol it's "First violation is treatment and entry into league's substance abuse program with continuing treatment and more common testing, second offense is 4 games".
