Buehrle>Wood
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 16, 2013 -> 01:06 AM) The 2nd pick is close between Cutler, Romo, & Rivers. Carson Palmer has to be a lock #1. Mark Sanchez scored 280 points higher (!!!) than the the next QB last year. If he's the starter, he's going to be the number one pick. Wanne
Geez us...I think I have a little man crush on Kyle Long already! Dude is a man out there already! Love the fact both rooks are starting on the right side and have looked pretty damn good! Long is just a beast already....

Steve9347
So one thing I'm starting to realize is that this Emery guy has an eye for talent. Two drafts in and the Bears have more depth and players who look like quality guys than I've seen in years. Kyle Long is the steal of the draft. Kyyle23
Kyle Long was a man last night. And let's not forget about Jordan Mills either. The right side of the line was great all night. McClellin hitting Rivers was pretty awesome too.

lostfan
I hope all the people who flipped out last April understand why those of us who liked the Long pick were confused about people getting so pissed off that the Bears drafted an offensive lineman with the first round pick. Anyway the first offensive series was bad but after that the starters looked really good. Cutler had one bad play when he forced a ball to Marshall, let it go about 6/10 of a second too late, and threw right at the linebacker. The other 4 were completions, in single coverage, Marshall is almost always going to win those matchups so if this was the regular season that's ok. Trestman also wasn't using any red zone plays they're actually going to use.
bmags
Was incredibly pleased with Long. He definitely is a strength as a run blocker and was standing his guys up as a pass blocker. I thought he looked great, and was one of the few times I've noticed a lineman's athleticism. I think DJ Fluker is destined to be a guard in this league, albeit a punishing one. He looked real slow vs. speed rushes but was dominating in the run. Lastly, pulling so hard for Marquis Wilson but I don't know if they can keep him if he does nothing on special teams. Didn't notice him at all last night.
GoSox05
That Chargers line is really bad. Fluker will probably be good, but not now. King Dunlap as a left tackle is scary.
Jenksismyhero
I was really impressed with Forte last night. He looks like he really slimmed down. If he's out in the flat and can get more room to run that's going to be great.

Coaches seem to recognize that, Forte's better outside than in, although Long was giving him bigger-than-normal holes

bmags
How about Nick Collins, guy sure has made me feel better about our thin depth. Though, if 2 DTs get injured, yikes.

Soxbadger
Mel Tucker is running a similar system and most of the guys are still there. Bostick is replacing old Urlacher not young one, so its not as easy to notice.

Boogua
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 16, 2013 -> 10:44 AM) I'm definitely feeling like the predicted fall of the Bears defense is absolutely not going to happen. Two years ago Tucker had a top 5 defense in Jacksonville running a cover 2 scheme. Apparently he's even using the same verbiage as the last regime for continuity. This defense is perfect for him and anybody who thought the defense would drop off drastically didn't know very much about Mel Tucker. The only reason to believe it would drop off is if it was thought Peanut and Jennings couldn't continue playing the way they have been.
Harry Chappas
I know this is going to sound meatheadish but I like seeing a coach with the big stupid laminated card, even if had nothing to do with anything it is much better than the blank stare at the scoreboard we grew accustomed to. Soxbadger
Imagine being a Badger fan and having to see that stare 2 games every week. At one point I was watching the only 2 teams that refused to use the shotgun. It was as if I was living in a different decade of football.
