Pretty amazing video, it's crazy what gets caught on video these days.

Hopefully no one was seriously injured, I had heard 400 injured but no one killed.

I read it was mostly minor injuries. Apparently there was a sonic boom or some sort of shock wave that caused to a lot of windows being blown out, which was the cause of the majority of the injuries. A few roofs collapsed as a result as well

Are we absolutely positive this isn't a Cloverfield sort of scenario, and there isn't going to be a giant turtle/guinea pig/hamster sort of thing jumping out trying to eat people?

I mean, it's in Russia, but s***, I live in North Dakota RUSSIA IS PRACTICALLY MY NEIGHBOR.

I would think a giant turtle would take forever to get from Russia to North Dakota. You should be good.

Just feels like an appropriate time to remind everyone that NASA's budget has been trending down, cut last year, cut again this year, facing much larger cuts in the "Sequester".

The one passing today is big enough for a Tunguska-sized event. Could basically blast away a city if it were to hit one. It was discovered about a year ago, and it took a good amount of effort to narrow down its orbit.

I was just reading the other day that there is "outrage" that the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds are on shaky ground in regards to budget./funding, and how that "outrage" would most likely prevent it from actually happening because they are "beloved". It's gotta come from somewhere...
