witesoxfan
QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 10:26 AM) Yeah, I have no problem hitting the opposing pitcher. That's the one benefit of the NL, that pitchers might have to deal with the consequences of their hit batsmen. Which, by my count, is the ONLY benefit from the pitcher hitting. Brian
QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 07:01 PM) So Wainwright vs Harvey tomorrow should be pretty lame 7 innings for both. Wainwright 0 runs, Harvey 1 run.

caulfield12
Even at his ancient age, he might be a better option as the long man in the bullpen than anyone we have currently at AAA. Not that it matters for the fate of the 2013 team at this point.
Jake
Anyone notice how unexceptional Billy Hamilton is playing in AAA this year? .655 OPS, 40 SB. Has to be better than that especially after they moved him off of SS
witesoxfan
QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 14, 2013 -> 11:45 AM) Anyone notice how unexceptional Billy Hamilton is playing in AAA this year? .655 OPS, 40 SB. Has to be better than that especially after they moved him off of SS He's also 22 and started last year in High-A. Not surprising though that a guy whose game is predicated on speed becomes less effective when he starts playing better players. I'm sure he'll be a major leaguer at some point but he'll probably be an overrated one.

Skip Schumaker said LaRussa's philosophy (and the Dodgers' now) always was "we don't start things, but we end them." Dick Allen
Youk back on the DL. He has been hurt and awful. The Sox did play the Youk card perfectly. Gave up nothing to get him, paid him very little, and discarded him when they would have had to pay him to be awful and injured.
zenryan
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jun 14, 2013 -> 03:29 PM) And with the whole team's very public attitude of 'you hit one of ours, we hit one of yours', too. I've never had an opinion on Mattingly but since the two brawls I can't stand the guy. Comes across as a Grade-A prick.
Swingandalongonetoleft
Wieter's 2 run shot to come to within 1 of Red Sox 5-4 with 1 out in the 9th. And a base hit in the next AB. Fun game to watch- we don't seem to have much of these in the Chicagoland area this year. Oh wow. Casilla, who pinch-ran, got doubled off to end the game on a fly out. He was all the way at 3B, so he likely thought there were 2 out. Brutal. Buck isn't going to be happy in the locker room.
