Alex Rodriguez (quad) said in a statement Thursday that he is "excited and ready to play."

A-Rod hired a doctor to go on a radio station Wednesday in New York and say that he has no quad injury, prompting a rather stern response from Yankees general manager Brian Cashman. "I think the Yankees and I crossed signals," Rodriguez wrote in his statement Thursday. "I don't want any more mixups. I'm excited and ready to play and help this team win a championship. I feel great and I'm ready and want to be in the lineup Friday night. Enough doctors, let's play."

I'm genuinely surprised there hasn't been a union grievance filed yet. You're not supposed to be able to use the DL for anything other than "guy is legitimately hurt".

Robert Fick comes clean about steroid use

There's a link on Deadspin as well

He knew it was wrong then, but has no guilt about it now.

He used on a Tiger team that had dozens of players using it

Tigers team that had DOZENS of players using it....Yet none of those teams ever finished over .500.

Man did they really suck at the game of baseball.

I'm sure every team back than had dozens of players using though. They were absolutely horrendous but they were still horrendous on a semi equal playing field I'm sure.

Thank you for joining the AL Houston!

Buehrle had a terrible start, but has been pretty good lately.

I always root for that man.

Favorite So in the last 20 years:

1. Buehrle

2. Konerko

3. Thomas

4. Dye

5. Pierzynski

Honorable mention....Thome.....Cause that man is just THE BEST!

Interesting story about why some of the best hitters in MLB can hit 95 MPH pitches from other ML pitchers but can't even get a bat on a 65 MPH softball pitched by Jennie Finch.

I've always said it's the pitching motion that messes them up. I had the exact opposite problem. I played fast-pitch for 10+ years with no problem when I was a kid, but struggled like hell to hit a baseball on my HS team.

That's because they're probably distracted by Jennie Finch.

That's great, as one less starter for Red Sox to acquire. Also, many thoughts Cubs might get him.

I thought it was a lock that the Cubs would get him with the way they were signing foreign guys. I guess he is too old to fit into Theo's plan.

I always hate how she thinks its so funny to pitch her hardest at celebrity softball games and have major leaguers not be able to hit it. Yet I've never seen her stand in the box against Randy Johnson. The only reason big leaguers can't hit the softball is because its different. If they had a couple days to practice, they would light her up.

David Ortiz lost his mind. He didn't like a strike call on 3-0 and eventually struck out. He showed up the ump and got tossed. Then he had to be restrained by several players/coaches from going out after the ump. He then took a bat and smashed the s*** out of a phone box with shrapnel going everywhere.

pretty good example of someone who did something during his career. 37 years old and still going to hit over 30hr and drive in 100rbi while hitting well over .300.

just watched the video, Pedroia looked pissed at Ortiz for his recklessness. He's lucky he didnt take someone out with those swings.

That could've been bad. Some violent swings in a cramped area. Someone could've gotten hurt. Dumb.
