LittleHurt05
QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 10:43 AM) Rangers moved their start time from 7:05p to 11:05a because of the forecast...and it looks like they'll be in a delay by the 3rd inning. Also looks like rain for the Indians/Twins game. I think I'm rooting for a three way tie. A team could potentially play four games in four cities in four days. iamshack
QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 27, 2013 -> 09:16 PM) Cleveland has the 21st best record vs .500 or better teams at 36-52. Yeah, and they are an insane 54-18 against below .500 teams.
flavum
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 11:23 AM) I think I'm rooting for a three way tie. A team could potentially play four games in four cities in four days. It would be wild, but I'm leaning toward just wanting to see the Rangers come up short. Then the Rays beating the Indians and then it would be Rays-Red Sox, Tigers-A's. Definitely rooting for an A's-Pirates World Series--but it won't happen Actually, if it's Dodgers-Red Sox, I may puke. ChiliIrishHammock24
QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 03:14 PM) This is a crappy Jason Werth-like precedent for the offseason. Kind of, except Pence is younger than Werth was, is coming off a better season than Werth was, and got a shorter deal than Werth did. Plus, $18M now is less than $18M 3 years ago. The Pence deal actually isn't that bad. He should be a 4 WAR player for most of this deal.

flavum
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 06:03 PM) A play-in game to decide who plays in the, um, play-in game? This second wild card is the dumbest s*** ever. I like the second wildcard. It keeps a lot of teams alive later into the season. But I don't like calling the Reds, Pirates, and Indians playoff teams yet. Those teams shouldn't have had champagne celebrations and all the hoopla until they are one of four in the league alive (actually I think the Reds didn't, so good for them). Basically, the next three nights are elimination games, and it should be a lot of fun.
