Indians about to take over first place.

Despite everything that's happened this season, the Royals are still legitimately in the race again as well.

Meh, it's still a one-team race.

To be fair, this wouldn't be the first time the Tigers played below their talent level and lost to the Indians a year after getting swept in the World Series while the White Sox fell off a cliff and became one of the worst teams in the league.

did you see Aaron Hicks throw out Vernon Wells?

HicksThrowsOutWellsOnFly.gif

Nope, but saw his leaping catch at the wall.

Doubt it was better than the Puig throw in his first major league game, haha.

But, the big question, is Hicks actually hitting now?

Puig needs a restraining order.

What about Gordon Beckham? Boers and Bernstein are always going on and on about how Gordon loves the ladies and prides himself on his conquests around town.

Should he also get one?

Yes, because we all know Gordon Beckham is more important, lol. He makes a higher salary, after all.

Cleveland has 51 wins. Terry Francona was available at one point to manage our Sox.

Fail.

If Terry Francona were here, Gavin Floyd wouldn't have needed Tommy John surgery, Konerko would stop being old, Peavy would have never hurt his ribs, Tyler Flowers would suddenly be able to hit a baseball, Beckham's hand would not have broken on that HBP.

Fail.

Dayan would have 37 homers before the break

the Tribe's defense has cost them the first two games against the Twins.

Friday night, 1B man Nick Swisher had a ball clang off his glove on a routine throw

tonight, Joe Mauer ran home on a contact play only to have the 3B dude miss the catcher by about 30 feet to the right, ball goes in the dugout and runners move up another base.

embarrassing.

Are the Royals contenders or pretenders? Win the first two vs. the Tigers. If they sweep and cut it to five do they have a chance? Or are they still the Royals?

they are still 'the Royals' until they are playing meaningful games late in September

I think they answered your question today. That James Shields trade is gonna bite them in the ass.
