southsider2k5
I don't think we are aquiring anyone. Guys to look for on Sept 1st., include Jon Rauch, Ross Gload, Felix Diaz, Matt Ginter, Mike Porzio, Joe Borchard, Tim Hummel, and Jaime Burke

We already have too many OF's on the roster and adding JB only complicates things further. JMO though.
Chisoxfn
Only thing I can see them acquiring is a reliever. I don't know if the Angels are gonna be dealing Weber, but I know there was talk about him getting moved around the trade deadline.
KipWellsFan
I could see David Sanders coming back up. He's got to learn how to be an affective reliever at the big league level.

Sanders and Munoz will both be called up. Definately Sanders though. I think Sanders is pretty good. The key for him is to pitch consistently, when he does that he's an excellent lefty and i think he'll prove that next season with the Sox. CWSOX45
There is one guy that I noticed had cleared waivers a couple weeks back. Mike DeJean from Milwaukee. He's had a rough year so far with a 4.95 E.R.A., but has had a pretty decent career over the years. I think he could be effective if he were to switch leagues. Thoughts? WSFAN35
Dejean would be awesome, at times he can be unhittable, and a winning team can change the attitude and effectiveness of a pitcher.

True, I'd also like the Sox to sign Jose Paniagua too. If Paniagua returned to his dominant self in 2000 and if DeJean could find his old stuff we get two valuable pick-ups. I know they're both big question marks, but it's worth a shot. CWSOX45

YASNY
Well, as we all know by now, the Sox have acquired a reliever. As for September call-ups, I don't think there will be very many. There might be 3 or 4 guys that might be able to help us win a game here or there, but there is no need in having guys here if you aren't going to let them play. And they won't play them as long as we are in the race.
Mathew
With Charlotte in a pennent race, I'd rather we didn't raid the farm just for the hella it.

Trades can be made, but aren't likely since playoff rosters have to be set September 1st.

This doesn't really apply because Charlotte will either be in the playoffs (doubtful) or their season will be over after Sept. 1. If they make the playoffs, look for call ups to be delayed. My guess is that you will see Hummel, Burke or Riviera, and maybe one or two more pitchers. Borchard is a possibility, but not a given. I doubt they will bring up a bunch of guys for two reasons. 1. It costs money to bring them up 2. They won't likely get much playing time with the Sox in a pennant race.

Well Detroit is mathematically eliminated. For fun they could put their single A team on the playoff roster.
