RockRaines
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 04:08 PM) Last ball of the inning spanked by Mesoroco. Ramirez with an amazing play. Sloppy game so far, already 3 errors (Fraser/Heisey/Dunn). That catcher's killing the ball, hitting around .450 with 10 RBI's this spring but still will be in the minors due to Hanigan getting the starting nod. Can you get your avatar to make out? Thanks
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
I swear the Sox have struck out a lot this spring with a runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs.
Kyyle23
QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 03:50 PM) Bummer. Can't help but think Danks will start the year on the DL. Might be looking at Sale, Peavy, Quintana the opening series. You expected something else?
flavum
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 04:16 PM) You expected something else? Danks 3rd, if healthy. We'll see.

Mesoraco was generally a consensus top 20 prospect in the game last year. That talent didn't disappear overnight. (and still, Flowers put up better minor league numbers overall)
witesoxfan
Sox will need a 5th starter right away too, first Sunday game of the year, and it'll keep on rolling right after that, barring an immediate rain out, of course. Kyyle23
QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 04:21 PM) Danks 3rd, if healthy. We'll see. There was no way he was starting the season 3rd in rotation. At least not in my mind

At least not in my mind It's been Danks' health versus Santiago for the 5th spot all Spring, and Santiago appears to be winning as of right now. Cali
Hopefully, Santiago gets Danks spot if and when he starts the season on the DL. I really don't want Axlerod in there... Make the right choice Robin/Coop.
fathom
QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 09:27 PM) Holy implosion. Danks is toast. Yep, see you in May hopefully Danks. Bernstein was saying after his last start how uncomfortable he appeared on the mound. Can we amnesty him

CaliSoxFanViaSWside
Keppinger just keeps on getting hits. I think we are going to be very pleased with him.
flavum
On a brighter note, Keppinger seems to be a guy that can roll out of bed and go 3-4.
Cali
Talk all you want about the Dunn contract, but right now, early on this Danks contract is looking like biggest mistake this team has made in a long time.
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
QUOTE (Cali @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 02:40 PM) Talk all you want about the Dunn contract, but right now, early on this Danks contract is looking like biggest mistake this team has made in a long time. As long as we don't get any news on shoulder pain it's just a matter of Danks regaining velocity and command . Expecting great results at this point , 4 spring starts, after so much time off and surgery isn't realistic.
southsider2k5
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 04:47 PM) As long as we don't get any news on shoulder pain it's just a matter of Danks regaining velocity and command . He could really be not right and still be healthy.
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
Well, no K with runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs. Instead a DP.

Maybe a few starts for Charlotte will do him well, and he'll be fully back--and effective.
Heads22
I love how everyone wants us to throw money at everything. We did. That's the risk in it.
Cali
I know we shouldn't expect him to be perfect at this point in Spring Training, but we've already lost one full season of the contract of an effective and healthy Danks pitching. Who knows when he's gonna be effective this season... So that's going to be 2 seasons kinda wasted if he's not throwing like was was pre-2012... Should have lessened the demands in a trade for him or just let him walk after an injury season and told him "good luck", maybe could have signed him to a smaller contract after an injured season. elrockinMT
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 09:53 PM) Beckham dinger on a hanging breaking ball off Bailey. Wind/weather-aided. Probably wouldn't have been gone at USCF in April/May. Give the boy a chance
