Princess Dye
I'm sure it's been covered every year, but just to fill me in...why is it the second day of the season is a day off? Wouldnt that amount to bad business-- just at the time you're trying to generate interest, you take your foot off the pedal a little?

Just in case Monday gets rained/snowed out, you can move Opening Day to Tuesday.

witesoxfan
I just saw that we get lucky to miss Strasburg...and instead face two guys who had lower ERAs than he did last year in Gonzalez and Zimmerman, plus Haren isn't a pushover either. Strasburg, Gio, Zimmermann vs Gio, Zimmermann, Haren I'll take the latter.

A trip to DC is very worth the time/money even if you don't get to see the Sox while there.
witesoxfan
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 10:25 AM) Strasburg, Gio, Zimmermann vs Gio, Zimmermann, Haren I'll take the latter. My point being that it's still not easy. Yes, I would prefer the latter too, but it's not like those are 3 stiffs. They're all pretty good pitchers. witesoxfan
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 12:25 PM) Two best teams on paper, in my opinion, are the Nats and Tigers It really is hard to disagree. I can see scenarios where both teams fall short of winning the division, but I do not see them as likely. Compare that to the other 4 divisions where I don't think there's a clear favorite in any of them.

greg775
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 06:35 PM) Bombs away Tank and Flowers We might as well lift and pull. I'd think Mark will have a pretty good idea how to get his old teammates out. Fathom may have gotten it right. Those 2 guys probably are our best bet to launch a few off Mark. Maybe Paulie, too.
