Offense looked good, and lost in the comeback is that Quintana off to a dreadful start this year as he's the biggest question mark by far on the roster, IMO.

He wasn't bad until the 5th, but IDK what the f*** happened that inning. Everything he threw turned into a hit.

Can't really blame him . Had to take the 1st pitch with the pitcher wild . 2nd pitch was aced outside corner.

2nd pitch looked like a pretty good pitch to hit. Something interesting with Flowers over the years is that he takes a ton of called 3rd strikes while at the same time swinging at a lot of 3rd strikes way out of the zone. Hopefully with more playing time, he'll show better plate discipline this year.

Mariners realized every pitch was going to be thrown inside to righties, and just started looking for it. Keppinger playing Gutierrez so far off the line was a huge play in the game. Oh well, shock the world Dylan.

That first pitch curve really threw him off. The dude's been awesome so far. Wilhelmsen threw great pitches against him.

Boy Tyler had a rough at bat. Just like that he gawn. I wish he'd have swung at that second pitch. Once it was 0-2 you had the feeling he was done.

I hate losing extra inning games at home. Would have been nice to win a home game in which we didn't get a quality start.

Oh well. 2-2 record. Would be nice to find a way to win Saturday's game and have a chance to win both series on this homestand.

Gutierrez pulled one down the line the previous AB.

What I didn't get was that play where Keppinger played Ryan up and then Quintana went and threw Ryan a freaking cutter inside so he can dink it over Kepp's head. That was horrible pitch calling.

No that pitch was like on the black low and away. And Quintana biggest question mark on the roster ? Really ? After how he pitched last year ?

The only good news is that the winds are supposed to be crazy tomorrow, so hopefully that adds a bit of a wildcard into the equation.

No implosion would be good

Did Lillibridge make a roster this year? Seems like our bench is pretty weak compared to past years and he coulda made this club.

Yeah he's with the cubs and was starting today. Im sure they would gladly give him to us too.

5.01 ERA after the ASB last year with his ERA getting worse every month over the course of the season. He was a great surprise last year, but he's definitely not a sure thing to stick in the majors unlike almost every other player on the Sox in a starting position (outside of Flowers). He did look great the first 4 innings, so hopefully he forgets about the 5th and pitches well next game.

Yeah, and how about Ryan Sweeney and other people that I've heard of before.

Axe easily gets that distinction since if Danks was healthy he'd be in the minors. Quintana pitched a lot of innings , way more than he had ever pitched before as did Sale. They both showed the wear and tear with second halves that didn't measure up to their 1st halves.
