Big Hurtin
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 08:58 PM) Because for some f***ing reason Robin loves bunting more than Ozzie!?! That doesn't seem possible.
flavum
QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 07:59 PM) I'm still totally lost, as to why you'd want Alexei to bunt, and leave the RBI work up to Gimenez...why?? Gimenez isn't a bad hitter. In a 0-0 in the 8th, yeah bunt, hit to the right side, whatever...get the job done.

Capn12
And here is the half inning where we get punished for not executing, with a bloop RBI or something from CLE.

Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 08:01 PM) That doesn't seem possible. Honestly, I think Robin likes small ball more than pre World Series Ozzie.
caulfield12
Nobody on this team deserves to have any fan support tonight other than Rios, Gillaspie and Quintana. God, this is awful baseball and managing. Just pathetic. The marketing department has to be cringing and hoping nobody's paying attention. By the way, Masterson has beaten the reigning Cy Young winners in back-to-back starts. Although RA Dickey's not your typical winner and might...will more likely regress to his career norms. greg775
Good line by Hawk: "We can't execute and we can't score." How many years is it in a row now, no matter who is the manager, we can't bunt?? Sox might as well not even try to bunt. No reason to try.

caulfield12
Gimenez did have a 764 OPS at Charlotte last year and double digit homers....but he's usually been a sub 700 OPS guy even in the minors. Plus, the weather's absolutely terrible and he has been sitting on the bench for most of the season. Knowing your personnel, if you have that move to make 100 times, I'll cross my fingers and let Ramirez hit away...and take 3 chances at it, rather than putting all the pressure on Hector. It's not a HORRIBLE play, but with Ramirez's inability to execute and Gimenez following him, it's not nearly so logical.
