Not if it fast tracks Santiago. Of course, he is already on the fast track, and only the Sox are stopping him so I doubt that helps either.

I dont think, say, an Astros type rebuild helps attendance at all. Fact of the matter is this franchise is facing that in the next few years. But this franchise isn't that popular to draw decent numbers and rebuild. Hell most teams can't.

Marty made plenty of outlandish statements in his time, but this one takes the cake IMO.

How so? If it means a non-prospect in Axelrod gets bumped for a potential #3 starter in Santiago, it could be a good thing for the organization in the short and long run.
