Any fans with tickets for tonight’s #DogDay festivities will be contacted by the @whitesox ticket office.

It shouldn't take too long to place those 15 phone calls.

I could be wrong, but by 8 tonight, we could be wondering why they didn't play.

But I guess making more money later in the year is more important.

They just played in Colorado with the first pitch temp at 23 degrees.

I applaud the White Sox for calling the game early. It is a grwat swrvice to their fans, and considering make up games don't draw so well as far as walk ups, they aren't making more money later. Also considering the game tomorrow is in the afternoon, waiting out rain delays is probably the last thing either team wants to do. Also it being dog night, calling it early makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, they did the right thing even if they could have started at 9 or something.

Looks like the Tigers/Royals are in a delay. I don't know why they're even trying.

edit: they called it. 17 postponed games in the last 14 days.

MLB has a record number of games postponed in April.

The way they're playing right now has to be given at least SOME thought. I doubt the #1 consideration is avoiding a crowd below 10,000 and the resulting articles that will come with it.

Isn't it the team's decision 100% to call the game....and from the time of the game on, it's at the head umpire's discretion?

At least that's the way it used to work in the minor leagues.

I guess a day off is better than another loss, but if it would have been a win I miss being able to watch the game right now. I missed baseball too much over the off-season to get myself too worried right now about the s*** show. But it's not even a s*** show, the pitching has been there pretty much! Bats gotta come around eventually, I hope.
