greg775
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 28, 2013 -> 05:04 AM) Except for the fact that it's from Hawk's stupid rant. Yeah, it has everything to do with the rant and doesn't describe this team, so I'd leave it be. Next year if they go totally young and there's truly a will to win, maybe? Even DeAza can be questioned now with all his Ks. TWTW could be called The Will to Whack (homers) or The Will to Whiff (while trying to hit homers). LittleHurt05
Hawk embarrasses the franchise more and more every day and producing TWTW shirts just makes the Sox a bigger laughing stock.

greg775
This TWTW stuff isn't catching on at all, is it? I haven't heard much about it except on here. I personally liked my The Will To Whiff but nobody else paid it any mind.
Y2Jimmy0
It is embarrassing that people are even talking about this positively. Hawk is the laughingstock of MLB. The broadcast booth is widely regarded as the worst in baseball......and STEVE STONE is in it. Hawk made a fool of himself on Brian Kenny's show and people think that Hawk won the argument because he talked the most. I don't think Harrelson realizes that Rick Hahn is a sabermetrics guy. If the White Sox embrace this TWTW idea, it would be very disappointing. It doesn't make any sense. I have the will to win. The problem is that I suck and nobody would pay money to watch me play. This whole thing is really frustrating. They are major league players. They all want to win. The thought that they don't is absolutely ludicrous. Hawk is offending my baseball sensibilities. White Sox fans (me included) used to rip the Cubs for having Santo in the booth. We have our own caricature in the booth and he's not even being hidden as the analyst. He would be the color guy. StrangeSox
TWTW+ is better and accounts for cross-year park factors and the positioning of Venus.

Big Hurtin
QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 26, 2013 -> 02:14 PM) hopefully the shirts will look better than what's posted. These look like left over shirts that somebody slapped (in helvetic mind you) #TWTW on it wherever it fit. Comic sans would be far more appropriate. The thought that they don't is absolutely ludicrous. I mean, technically, so is the thought that pro players give it their all at all times... I don't see the point in getting all riled up over some silly Hawk slogan. He's meant to be entertainment. What's more ludicrous is to believe that his silly ideas are gonna sway how the org is run. TWTW- works too, except the lower the number is, the better. We can also try wTWTW for weighted TWTW. Edited April 30, 2013 by chw42

StrangeSox
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 30, 2013 -> 01:44 PM) I prefer fTWTW myself it's good, but it treats all innings as equal instead of placing most of the weight on the 8th and 9th. It does incorporate the Angels' Rally Monkey, though, and that's a good .12-.15 boost in TWTW in late innings when trailing by 2-4 runs.
