southsider2k5
Chicago White Sox @whitesox 3m #WhiteSox have optioned LHP Donnie Veal (@RealDVeal) to @KnightsBaseball & recalled RHP Brian Omogrosso. Omogrosso will wear uniform No. 48.
maggsmaggs
Though Veal was gonna be our LOOGY for the next 10 years. Bad turn of events for both parties.

flavum
You know your team is in trouble when you make seven roster moves in the first month. Not that this wasn't overdue. Unfortunately Omo had a rough April too. Edited May 1, 2013 by flavum
flavum
QUOTE (bbilek1 @ May 1, 2013 -> 03:25 PM) Would anyone prefer Purcey to Heath? I prefer Ommogross to Heath but now that both are up Heath seems pretty useless. Purcey has a 3.29 ERA with 14 K's, 4 BB in 13.2 innings. Take away his innings against Norfolk and he has a 0.00 ERA, 13 K's, 2 BBs in 10.2 innings. I know it's just AAA stats but in any case, Purcey (lefty) > Heath (righty). That move may be around the corner. Maybe they feel like more righties in the pen match up better against the Rangers. I can't see them going with just one lefty in the pen for too long. pettie4sox
How are you boss one season but turn to complete and utter crap the next? Fluke? Laziness? What?!?!

I don't think he got figured out, I think he lost any consistent release point and that's murdered his control.

Winner. He's got too good of stuff to get figured out. He can't throw strikes right now and isn't being given the opportunity to find that release point. He needs to face both LH and RH batters to become more consistent.
caulfield12
Control/confidence with Veal. He was automatic almost all season long...to the point where you were shocked when he finally gave up a hit against a lefty, I can't remember who it was, I think it was the Tigers that broke his streak (or retiring X number of LH batters consecutively) but it could have been the Indians. As far as Omogrosso vs. Heath vs. Purcey vs. Moskos, they'll have to leave it up to the AA/AAA pitching coaches. They might do something surprising and bring up someone like Taylor Thompson. Or, if they need a long man, maybe Berken or Simon Castro, although Castro's been hard hit recently.
