Dick Allen
QUOTE (flavum @ May 4, 2013 -> 06:56 PM) Ventura's decision. If a player tells you he would be more comfortable in LF, most managers would do the same thing.
caulfield12
Strange decision to pitch around Frenchie to get to Perez, but maybe Dylan preferred to face him. If he saw Perez hitting against us all last year, he would have thought differently.
fathom
Rios' average is free falling, yikes. Also, isn't it about time to shake things up and move Keppinger from the 2nd spot against righties? Gillaspie batting 2nd makes way too much sense. Edited May 5, 2013 by fathom

It's okay as long as we don't sit Viciedo to play Danks/Tekotte/Wise in CF when Dayan comes back. We need all the offensive firepower we can get in the line-up. caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2013 -> 06:06 PM) Rios' average is free falling, yikes I knew it was lunacy to start talking about picking up his option year for 2015. That said, not a whole lot of protection in this current line-up and nobody's getting on ahead of him either. Perfect placement there by Konerko. Not a rocket, but it just dropped in perfectly between the outfielders. Edited May 5, 2013 by caulfield12

caulfield12
Detroit 6-0 over Houston and threatening to go 5 1/2 games up. Fernandez (Marlins) bedazzling the Phillies as he and Harvey continue to impress.
flavum
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 4, 2013 -> 07:04 PM) If a player tells you he would be more comfortable in LF, most managers would do the same thing. After seeing that he sucks in left, it's the manager's job to keep him in CF. I mean, that's his position. If he's going to be an everyday player, he should have one position. This isn't 1B/DH. CF is too important not to keep it consistent.

Fernandez (Marlins) bedazzling the Phillies as he and Harvey continue to impress. The Tigers are on their way to mid to high 90's wins. The Sox goal, and the rest of the division's goal should be 89 wins and ignore standings.
greg775
Guthrie with the sad K of Coner who didn't look very comfortable against the inside off speed stuff from the righty. Damn. That was huge K with first base open.

caulfield12
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 4, 2013 -> 06:11 PM) He hasn't been stellar there either. Wise is good in CF. But Wise is also in his mid 30's and on his final rope on a major league roster. But whatever, it doesn't really matter at this point. Every possible line-up option is blah. caulfield12
QUOTE (flavum @ May 4, 2013 -> 06:12 PM) The Tigers are on their way to mid to high 90's wins. The Sox goal, and the rest of the division's goal should be 89 wins and ignore standings. The Royals are the only team in a good position to compete for the WC, if EVERYTHING goes right and they add some pieces at the trade deadline. They almost have to, if they don't want their fans to become discouraged after promoting "the future" for so long, well, the future's now for that organization. greg775
How many season tix did the Sox sell? If Sox are 10 or more out when school lets out, will our crowds consist pretty much only of season tix holders? Maybe 1-2 times a summer families will go? Good thing they lowered ticket prices. Too bad we didnt finish off Detroit last year when we had the chances, many chances.

Yep, if anything, it's more likely the Sox would be rooting for the Tigers to win games during the 2nd half of the year to knock teams down in the WC standings. It's like Tim Tebow insisting he's only a QB when he can do more damage at fullback, H-Back or tight end. You have to get the most benefit out of the players on your roster. That's the head coach's or manager's job.
