You guys won't be saying that when they have to cut the payroll by 20% a year the next 2 years.

Does it matter now? This is the worst roster we've seen in decades. We all knew the rebuilding was coming. Just have to hope Peavy gets healthy so we can deal him.

There's no benefit in playing badly. Ever.

Did you watch Mark Appel pitch the other day? There's absolutely no shame in being the worst if you're going to have a bad year where nothing goes your way.

Mistake was a bad pitch on the double.

Are you serious? He hadn't given up a hit through 4. So he made a bad pitch and gave up the double. Keppinger booted the inning ender. He's a bum who makes the sight of Gordon Beckham look like a Greek God.

Last year's team was never above .500 until May 24 and they were perfectly healthy. I'm not ready for the tear down just yet

For those saying there's no benefit in being bad, do you really think attendance would be that different if the Sox lose 90 games compared to 100? Hell, Reinsdorf gets paid for 1.5 million in attendance no matter what.

Yes, because you're not going to be happy with the results of severe payroll cuts. You're just not. No one here is going to be.

This kind of failure followed by a dismantling can put us into the same boat the Royals have spent the last 2 decades in, I'm not joking. You guys think it's this stellar idea, it might well leave people talking about contracting the team.

Yep. A rebuild is long overdue.

Honestly I hate when people say this for the exact reason Balta just pointed out.

Elite pitching can be had without being as bad as the Cubs

If same people are spending the money KW with veto power it does not matter 1% they blow as talent evaluators.

Not sure how folks can argue that this team is due for a mass overhaul, and that means cutting payroll, and trading what is worth something, to restock the minors. Play kids, and go from there.

Don't even start talking about the stupid attendance crap, either.

The AL Central is also way better this year and last year's team never had the injury issues this team has.

A 60 win team? Yes.

Not sure how people can pretend this isn't a terrific, franchise threatening failure.
