Quintana starting to look around the field at the other players and obviously frustrated with Keppinger.

Not good when the pitchers are starting to turn on the fielders/offense.

Ventura's going to need to address that...or do something/anything.

The Royals are a nice case study too since they are chock full of perennial all-stars that they've acquired due to high draft picks

Yet two of their best players were acquired in the Greinke deal.

And how is that? Trading from one of the three worst farm systems in all of baseball?

Hell, we already have a borderline elite pitching staff right now. It might very well be "elite" if people could catch the ball.

We have a pretty good staff right now. It was made with good late round drafting, a number 13 draft pick, Aaron Poreda, Clayton Richard, and Brandon McCarthy

Up for a decade of losing?

Question is, what has to happen for Sox to even contend the next few years with the likes of Detroit and KC? Like it or not, there's just a huge talent gap from Detroit-KC-White Sox.

I'm being sarcastic. This club should never have consecutive losing seasons, let alone any at all really

Yeah, the pitching is fine with the White Sox, but it's likely going to have to be used to acquire difference makers on offense with the gigantic holes this organization has heading into next year.

The problem is, #1 on that list is "stop being the stupidest team in baseball" and #2 on that list is "get a couple of injured people back".

So lets suck for the foreseeable future. God I just hope management doesnt have your attitude. Thats an extreme loser mentality.

Yes, because you're not going to be happy with the results of severe payroll cuts. You're just not. No one here is going to be.

Ha!! Who do they have worth keeping?

Nobody would have said this about the Royals/Sox last year and they aren't much different from last year. James Shields, Ervin Santana, Wade Davis

If you're going to suck next year with or without Peavy, then you get what you can for him at the deadline. There was an article today by Nick Carfardo saying how intriguing he'd be to teams in contention.

Because we acquired Contreras, Santos, Jenks, Quintana, Santiago, Garland and Floyd for virtually nothing. (That will be the argument).

Of course, there's a huge premium on young arms now.

The days of trading an aging vet like Dye for Homer Bailey are long gone.

Not much different? Come on, they added 3 starting pitchers to a team that everyone used to say "their offense is really good, if only they could add starting pitching". They did it, and they're a much more balanced team now.

How are they not going to suck for the next couple of years? Unfortunately, it's inevitable.

I would trade Peavy only for exciting MLB talent and only if we're definitely out of the race

So that means you think they can contend next year with Peavy on the roster?

This team with the same pitching staff, the same lineup minus AJ but plus a real 3B contended for an entire season. Can't be that crazy to think it can continue to do that.
