5/16 White Sox @ Angels

Recommended Posts

My interpretation of Viciedo's play:

-I would never have expected him to catch it, I couldn't believe he got there.

-I would have expected ADA/Wise to catch that almost every time

FWIW, the Angels' announcers said he did a good job just to get to the ball.

From their perspective, at the time of the play....it was a double, but a play that would be made about 30-40% of the time, at least my interpretation.

Sounds like the Angels have some smart announcers. ;) He read that ball really well and got a great jump, considering his speed. It was a strange hit.

After watching the replay again, it's definitely a play that needs to be made. Not sure if his glove blocked his vision at the last second.

Paulie, buddy, old friend. Please turn this s*** around.

Angels announcers said Paulie has been dealing with back problems all season long.First time I've heard that.

Well, we might be playing him at 1B/DH next year, anyway.

Yeah, yeah....I know someone will say his best value is in LF because of his arm....but if we had Peter Bourjos playing out there, we wouldn't have to worry about any ball hit into the air.

Of course, we'd then be worrying about offense instead.

I honestly think they ought to think about bringing Wimpy in as a third broadcaster in the TV booth with Hawk and Stoney. I think he'd be the perfect bridge between Hawk's schtick and Stoney's sober analysis. Clearly, the Wimparoo has the requisite rapprochement with Hawk, and his temperament would clearly work with Stone's style as well.
