cabiness42
I know nothing about the credibility of this site, but this just popped up in my Facebook feed: https://www.facebook.com/#!/ChicagoWhit...location=stream Supposedly the Sox are going to get Goldschmidt from ARI and Callaspo from LAA in exchange for Konerko (ARI), Crain and Santiago (LAA). It isn't mentioned, but presumably something substantial would also have to go from LAA to ARI. I find this highly unlikely because it seems too good to be true on the Sox end and why on earth would Arizona give up Goldschmidt? I almost didn't even bother to post it but these wild stories do end up true about 0.5% of the time.
pettie4sox
Sounds far fetched and that's putting it mildly.

lasttriptotulsa
Yea the only thing funnier than that "rumor" are the comments from people underneath it who are against the trade because they don't want to give up Konerko.

GoGoSox2k2
yes this would be awesome.. no this is never going to happen
Steve9347
LOL. The Diamondbacks have no reason to trade Goldschmidt - and after trading Justin Upton and watching him blow up, I'd imagine there'd be a revolt if they dealt off their highly productive young 1b. TitoMB345
Saw this too. Came here to see if it was a joke. I like Goldschmidt though.

I don't think that site intended it as a joke, but that doesn't make it any more likely to actually happen.

cabiness42
Paulie's hurt again? What'd I miss? He's not on the DL but he's been struggling so much plus gotten 'extra' days off here and there so it seems pretty likely that he has some level of injury. The Ultimate Champion
Not related to this crap but I do wonder what the Dodgers would be willing to give up for Addison Reed.

Alot of that is because apparently Dunn relaxes and hits better when in the field, at least thats a theory.
southsider2k5
I think someone is going back to a few years ago when the Diamondbacks claimed Paul Konerko on waivers, and the Sox said they would do the deal for Goldschmidt. Today this is just silly.
Eminor3rd
That would be a coup for us. No chance.
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm
I've heard that this trade is agreed upon in principal, pending a brain scan and psychological evaluation of the Diamondbacks GM.

I mean it wouldn't be the first, second, or even third Kevin Towers move that seemed to make absolutely no sense to anyone at the time. Numbers are fairly similar this year. Only about a 20 point OPS difference in small sample sizes
