fathom
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 23, 2013 -> 02:36 AM) Is RV asleep at the wheel again? Omogrosso is garbage out there. He's not fooling anyone.

caulfield12
Omogrosso USED to have an elite fastball before his injuries. No longer THAT version. Poor Nate Jones, wallowing in the bullpen. Should have just sacrificed this game and started Omogrosso and had Nate Jones/Veal relieve him, lol. If this was Ventura's bold managerial move lurking in the weeds. And the team DOES HAVE AN OFF-DAY tmrw. SIGH. Edited May 23, 2013 by caulfield12
fathom
QUOTE (Jake @ May 23, 2013 -> 02:39 AM) Jones has been up They showed video of the bullpen before and only Veal was throwing.

Ventura absolutely got caught sleeping there, and had to waste more time to get Jones up.
Buehrle>Wood
Can we fire Ventura now or do we have to wait after the game?
Jake
I still think Omogrosso has a place on this team. But yeah, he has to be protected a bit. Robin is trying to get a two-day break for a taxed back end of bullpen so without a lead, the only guys available are Omo, Veal, and Jones
caulfield12
5 base-runners, 4 outs. That's not so good.

Only out of this inning was the hardest hit ball of the night for the Red Sox.

greg775
0-4 with a high five ERA. Are we still high on Nate Jones on soxtalk?
TaylorStSox
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 22, 2013 -> 09:37 PM) I don't get what RV is doing here?? He knows it is a one run ball game with the heart of their line up right We already won the series and we're losing this game. You don't bring out the big dogs unless its must win or you're already winning.
caulfield12
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 22, 2013 -> 08:44 PM) 0-4 with a high five ERA. Are we still high on Nate Jones on soxtalk? Nope. But long-term, you have to hope he's part of the solution because we can't afford to find a replacement....you don't trade the likes of an Erik Johnson to fix a bullpen problem. fathom
QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ May 23, 2013 -> 02:44 AM) We already won the series and we're losing this game. You don't bring out the big dogs unless its must win or you're already winning. Couldn't disagree more. You have tomorrow off and your starting pitcher gave you 6 innings. You should be able to piece together 3 innings from your bullpen. Omogrosso had no business starting this inning. If the score was something like 5-1 going into this inning, then that's fine. Jake
Pretty clear that Robin was slow to replace Omo because he didn't love the replacement either
