My phone is being blown up from f***ing scrubs fans. I really hate this s*** especially since I'm at work. Can some benching and playing other players save face for this team? I really think it can.

No. Our bench is one of the worst benches in Sox history IMO. Let's face it, Robin was a candidate for manager of the century a few games ago when we hit .500. Now we're about to go three under .500 which is more like it with this collection of whiffle ball bat hitters.

The Cubs are going to have to get a couple front line starters before they can actually compete. They may be getting one a week from tonight, but there's no guarantee there either.

I'm not worried about the pitching, it's the fact that 2 years from now, it's hard to project anyone on this offensive roster still being a starter for the Sox besides Gillaspie and Viciedo.

Our bench in 2011 got all of one pinch hit.

But it's still fine to project the Cubs getting to the playoffs first. Because you know, Sale + Viciedo + the rest of the Sox pitching staff

Castro, Rizzo, Baez, Soler, Samardzija, Wood, Appel and willingness to spend big on free agents is a better situation than what the Sox have going forward. Again, I never said they would make the playoffs, but in terms of talent on the field, I don't think the Sox will be matching them for a while after this year.

If you throw in the comparative states of the two farm systems, yeah.

And the fact that they're a couple of weeks from another front-line collegiate starter.

Now if Baez, Almora and Soler all flame out and their draftee turns into Prior II, there's no reason to worry about the Cubs, haha.

This team is so incredibly dumb. Ventura just can't get these guys to play the game properly.

And what changed this team from last season when defensively we were so good?

Sounds like complacency and laziness to me. Robin's second year. He trusted the guys to continue on after a good first year, and they have done this to him.

:LOL you actually included Wood in that list.

If the 2 teams changed jerseys you'd be citing how deep the rotation is with Sale, Quintana, Santiago, Axelrod, Johnson, Reed, and others as the reason why the Cubs will make the playoffs first.

As long as Jackson, Cabrera, Fielder, Verlander, Scherzer, Sanchez and Fister are healthy in DET, they're going to be the favorites.

IMO, they're better than the Cardinals, if Verlander has his plus stuff.

Although the bullpen's questionable, Valverde's been on a roll again. Heck, if a 36 year old Jason Grilli can go 22/22 in that division, anything's possible.

Wood is a very solid pitcher who seems to be getting better. He's definitely someone you can project into the rotation for the next few years. That's more than I would say about Axelrod. He's a valuable asset to their organization.

It's 100% the Gordon Beckham Effect.

Funny thing is how much AJ was criticized defensively, but our 2 catchers this year have been even worse....

Plus he's left-handed.

Can't wait to hear Hawk play that narrative the rest of the year.

The chance of those guys staying healthy for the foreseeable future is very slim and a few of those contracts are franchise crippling.

GONNA LOSE THE BP CUP FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

This team has been so dysfunctional since winning the WS title. Just doing stuff that can't be explained like losing 3 in a row to the s***ty Cubs and getting blown out of all three games after a hot streak got the team to .500. I'd suspect we ain't getting over .500 this season. I'm done. No more negativity today. This team has totally ruined my week post Memorial Day.

Thank GOD for the CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS!!!!

To be fair, Axelrod should not be projected into our rotation now, let alone the future.

Not to mention the Royals, lol.

The amazing thing is that we entered today with the 2nd best all-time record in inter-league play since 1997, at 41 games over.

Remember 2010? Those were the days...at least compared to this season against the NL.

Swept by the Cubs (well, so far) and Nationals, swept the Marlins, can't even remember the NY trip because this season has become so wearisome already.
