fathom
Don't forget, the return of Beckham will solve all the defensive issues on the team. Only took 2 innings for an unearned run.

Yep, it wasn't the bounce that got him, it was the positioning. Oh well, he hit it hard.
caulfield12
DeAza 5th in AL number of pitches per plate appearance but it's not resulting in very many walks. So Alejandro's covering all the territory of what not to do as the lead-off hitter (except for Ricky Henderson or Mike Trout). K'ing and putting the ball into the air in the OF. Yeah, yeah, he's terrible against LHP, we know that. Up to Hahn. Or playing Rios/Wells in CF, which isn't a good option, either. Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 09:56 PM) With the way Keppinger has been hitting of late, I wouldn't mind him getting a start in LF every once in a wild. I remember when he was signed it was deemed his best position. After losing 3 straight after losing 3 straight to the Cubs... This would be switching it up against a LHP. SS Alexei Ramiez 2B Gordon Beckham RF Alex Rios DH Dayan Viciedo 1B Paul Konerko CF Alejandro De Aza LF Jeff Keppinger 3B Conor Gillaspie C Hector Gimenez Why not just DH Keppinger? I have never seen him play LF, but I'm going to guess that Tank is a better defensive LF if you factor in his arm. And I realize that Viciedo isn't very good out there either. Just can't imagine Keppinger would be though. Edited June 4, 2013 by Chicago White Sox
caulfield12
Keppinger in the OF is definitely NOT a good idea... DH against LHP, okay. But then Gillaspie would have to be a better option against LHP than Dunn (which is going to be an argument in the coming weeks).

caulfield12
There's your White Sox 1B for 2014....Kendrys Morales. Too much topspin. Lucky it didn't go out. Morales has been on fire. Looked like a surefire homer. 8th double in last 14 games, over .300 now, Morales es en fuego. White Sox have lost 7 road games consecutively now. caulfield12
You have to have Buehrle control to pitch like that... Danks' best pitch is the change-up, but when the speed differential's only 7-8 MPH, the margin of error is razor thin. And you definitely can't pitch from behind in the count. caulfield12
QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 09:06 PM) I'll take having Gillaspie's defense at 3B and not having Viciedo's in. Has Keppinger ever even played LF? Now's not the time to be experimenting. And Jeff's range has been extremely limited at 2B, one could hardly imagine it would be any better in the OF. Danks is very frustrated, smacking his glove and looking agitated not being able to put away Ibanez. GAME OVER. That's what happens when your stuff is diminished. We're not even seeing Danks against some of the better hitting teams.
