fathom
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 09:15 PM) Not gonna happen midseason. I don't expect it to...my belief all along (with absolutely no information to go along with this) is that Ventura just will decline to return after this season. kageman129
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 05:15 PM) No, not in a way. He is a former player, he is definitely in the family tree Right, former Sox player. I'd love to see Martinez as manager, and get some coaches that know how to get the most of their players. Eminor3rd
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 04:05 PM) They should fire Manto and hire Frank Thomas. I imagine Frank Thomas would try to teach guys how to work the count and get a good pitch to hit.

Harry Chappas
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 04:09 PM) Absolutely, bring in Dave Martinez as the manager and let him choose his coaching staff. Ventura's staff from last year and the changes for this year are abysmal. Losing Nieves, whatever Baines is doing, Thigpen is a regression etc. Clean house and bring in guys that have done the job before.

fathom
WTF, Santiago is starting on Sunday and he's pitching today (and pitched last night)? The Sox do know he's young and has potential and it's a 40 year old Terry Mulholland? Edited June 5, 2013 by fathom
Noonskadoodle
Just give Super Joe the manager job or give Sandy A a shot Robin just doesn't seem to be completely into it....& that's fine. Not like he was a whoooo rahhhhh guy coming into the job. Just need to move on, whether that is in the near future or at the end of the season. Harry Chappas
Losing to good pitching is acceptable as is tipping the ole cap once in a while but the inability to even compete in certain games is the main issue. Like you said, it's not even that they're losing all these games, it's that they've not even threatened to win more than one or two of these games.
