Heads22
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2013 -> 11:40 PM) Did Hawk just say Dunn only has two, 3 run homers in his career? If so, that's not correct It just feels like that since he's been here.
Noonskadoodle
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 12:40 AM) Did Hawk just say Dunn only has two, 3 run homers in his career? If so, that's not correct Hit rewind: He said he has 422 home runs & only had 1 other 3 run homer. Stone concurred. Maybe they meant 3 home run game? Seems impossible to have one other 3 run homer in his career haha

Maybe they meant 3 home run game? Seems impossible to have one other 3 run homer in his career haha Baseball-reference had him with numerous 3 run homers, so that definitely wasn't accurate. He had one a few weeks ago vs Lester.
TaylorStSox
QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 10, 2013 -> 11:40 PM) Dunn's BABIP has been unsustainably low. Looks like his luck is starting to turn, as none of his other batted ball statistics really could explain why his BABIP was so low. Good for him. A victim of the shift? Jake
QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 10, 2013 -> 11:47 PM) A victim of the shift? I don't think so, at least not entirely. His early season struggles seemed to be because he had a higher ground ball rate and those are almost always sucked up by the shift, but now his batted ball numbers are at career averages while his BABIP is .070-.100 lower than it has ever been, even at his worst. His batted ball numbers look pretty much exactly like all of his non-White Sox seasons, EXCEPT the BABIP is lower. Doesn't make sense to me. BigHurt3515
Great game to be at minus the one hour delay! Glad I got to see an offensive game for a change from this team. Dunn got on all 5 times tonight which was a miracle! Seats were awesome.

Looks like his luck is starting to turn, as none of his other batted ball statistics really could explain why his BABIP was so low. Good for him. This is where the eye test comes in. Dunn has been playing into defensive sets that use extra defenders against him. He hasn't been unlucky, just stubborn.
LittleHurt05
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 07:24 AM) This is where the eye test comes in. Dunn has been playing into defensive sets that use extra defenders against him. He hasn't been unlucky, just stubborn. One of my biggest pet peeves is when Hawk among others complain about how the shift takes away another base hit from Dunn. The shift is there every single time, it's not bad luck at that pont.
