thxfrthmmrs
QUOTE (Dunt @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 01:43 PM) Guys, stop it! Can't you see Courtney Hawkins is tearing us apart?!?! Naw, it's just Caufield's irrelevant comparisons, unnecessary details, and constant tangents are finally driving people to insanity.
2nd_city_saint787
This thread is looking like some of the ones over on talkbears..yesh. Anyway, the subject that is getting over looked here for yesterdays games was DeMichelle getting moved to SS. This has to mean Micah is making the move up which excites me. He's my favorite player to follow right now.
thxfrthmmrs
And quietly, Semien making strides on his pitch recognition. A 51 to 49 BB/K rate in 74 games is definitely an encouraging development for a 22 year old shortstop in Double A
2nd_city_saint787
QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 02:56 PM) I don't know if it means he HAS to make the move up now. Perhaps Curley needed a day off and they don't have another SS. Maybe someone with a better understanding of Kanny's depth can comment. Not that it really matters, but a middle infield of Micah-DeMichele would be absolutely terrible defensively. Can't be good for the pitching staff though. I've just been following Micah from an offensive stand point, don't know how awful his D is but he can work on that at any level. It's his bat that needs to be tested on the next level IMO. He's been batting too good for it not to be. I hope that DeMichele being moved to SS is the sign that this will happen....Maybe moving DeMichele in a trade as an add on would be the smart thing to do. Micah at this point needs to be pushed and looks to have higher potential than Joey. Edited June 25, 2013 by 2nd_city_saint787
witesoxfan
They may be merely testing his versatility too. Get him a few games at SS, a few games at 3B, a few games in LF, see if he can make it, because left handed hitting utility players have a much, much better chance of making it to the majors. s***, it's why Will Rhymes has 450 PAs in the majors and Denny Hocking lasted 13 years for that exact reason too. Wow, you really hurt my feelings. Give me a break, this is FREAKING message board. If you don't want to argue or read what I wrote, for god's sake, PLEASE PUT ME ON IGNORE. Jesus, what, are we in kindergarten and we have to constantly complain about someone's posting style? Grow up. Because really, this place is becoming so much more enjoyable when everyone curses at each other, calls each other idiots... Let's all just scream at each other. Will that make you feel better? Hope so. Edited June 25, 2013 by caulfield12
danman31
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 12:41 PM) It's irrelevant that the White Sox are the only team in the last decade, that has taken a high school player, a position prospect...and we're not even talking a TOP TEN pick, but a mid first rounder and pushed him to High A in the same season he was drafted and also placed him in High A to start the following season? How is that irrelevant? They're treating him in a way that no player has ever been treated before, and we should be 100% surprised by the results? There has to be SOME reason why NO OTHER TEAM has ever taken this same approach. Ryan Sweeney was in Winston-Salem to start his first full season out of high school and he's from f***ing Iowa. The tiny stint for the playoffs last year is irrelevant so Sweeney fills your requirements.
thxfrthmmrs
QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 06:17 PM) Wow, seems eerily similar to our argument weeks back. In fact, there is several arguments that match both this argument and ours. The words "tangent", "unnecessary" and "comparisons" show up in every one of your riffs. Instead of calling everyone else kindergartners, look at the facts. You get in several of the same arguments over and over again. If you're up against everyone else, it's probably you and not everyone else. You're not the victim, you have bad habits. Michalzewski has been compared to Troy Glaus. Troy Glaus hit 41 HRs in 2001. Whether Michalzewski can cut it from both sides of the plate remains to be seen. Either way he probably doesn't crack the majors until '16. With that said, do you think Hahn shells out the money for a McCann/Utely type FA? Even if we did, we still need to develop our own all star position players. While Hawkins can be that guy, I don't see him exploding on the scene like say, Yasiel Puig. LOL this is golden. Caufield, I have no hidden agenda against you. But when you pose an argument to someone, you always take them on a merry go round. You are quoting on another poster, but it's hard for others to read and follow your thoughts. If you have a new idea to point out, feel free to make a new post or save it for another time. I think other posters other than bbilek and myself would appreciate it as well.
