We need to stop calling Butler "Jimmy Buckets" until he gets over 40%.

Yes J4L, we know. I didn't think 13 a game on decent efficiency was too much to ask.

It's such a cool nickname though.

Ya, he's been bad as of late.

Man I had a lame "no Gay Cousins, no problem" comment already typed up then PG hit a 3 and got fouled to tie the game.

Real entertaining game goin on in Sacramento. No Rudy Gay, no Demarcus Cousins and they're hangin with the Pacers.

They Marcus Thornton of old has shown up, and this Isaiah Thomas fellow is a baller.

If the Knicks take a S&T of Boozer + Charlotte 1st/Sac 1st/2015 Bulls 1st and then trade Dunleavy for something, the Bulls can actually run with...

Rose/Augustin/Kirk (Vet Min)

Butler/Snell

Melo

Mirotic/Taj

Noah

Then with the Bulls 1st you can try and take someone like Willie Cauley-Stein to backup Noah and someone like LeBryan Nash or Jabari Brown in the 2nd. Nash would backup Melo, Brown would make Snell the primary SF backup, but would give another 3 point threat. I like Cauley-Stein because I think he can fit into Thibs defensive plan.

Maybe BG can be brought in on the vet minimum as well, that'd Rose/Melo a lot of 3 point weapons while keeping the defensive big trio of Noah/Taj/Cauley-Stein.

I'm sure it's been answered a hundred times here, but is it possible to have Rose, Melo, Taj, and Noah?

Only if you think Melo will sign for like $10 million, less if you want Mirotic too.

Edit- A sign-and-trade is possible in theory, but it would involve the Knicks taking back a ton of salary. I have serious doubts that they'd take Boozer back, though I won't rule anything out with the way the Knicks are run.

It'd be Boozer then Dunleavy (whatever you can get for him) + picks.

If the Bulls offered 3 1st round picks, I think it'd be hard for the Knicks to turn down, since they've traded all of theirs.

It would involve the Knicks basically admitting that they're going to be irrelevant for the forseeable future. Their delusional owner was talking about them winning a championship this year. They're the type of franchise that thinks the cap space would turn into Lebron.

They would have to be 100% sure Melo is gone, and even then they wouldn't be thrilled about taking Boozer. There's also a possibility that the return turns into two future firsts and a future second. Teams have been getting multiple 1sts for deals like Pierce/Garnett and Joe Johnson, not to mention the Jazz getting 2 for just taking a couple of bad contracts.

It also doesn't help the Bulls that they're not a threat to sign Melo outright.

It's not impossible, but I'm not holding my breath either.

Oh, I was watching a Pacers/Bulls from the '98 playoffs. Ratchet as all hell. All slow as s***, no fastbreaks, everybody defending with their hands and fists and wrestling in the paint. That is not basketball. That's lame ass wwe s***. Late 90's/early 2000's ball was just terrible. I'm so glad they cleaned that s*** up. We're lucky as hell today and we don't even realize it.

It was pathetic. Bob Costas was going on and on about how Derrek Mckey was limited athletically/lateral movement wise but was still such a great defender because he knew how to utilize hand-checking. GMAFB. Paul George, Tony Allen, Andre Igudala without handechecking >>> Derrek Mckey with handchecking. Defense should be played with your feet and should be about challenging shots.

Also, bigs had no responsibility back then other than to stay in the paint and challenge short shots. Now you have to be able to cover the pick and roll, cover the weakside and challenge long-range shooters (love, Anderson, etc). Joakim Noah > Alonzo Mourning defensively

There are still rim protectors though like Hibbert or Howard. I think Mourning would be just fine, but who knows.

Mourning also played as recently as 2007-2008 when he averaged 1.7 blocks per game on 15 minutes per game. He was 37. The two previous years he averaged over 2 blocks per game at around 20 minutes per game.
