I used dump just because they would have to get rid of his contract, but I agree and think Gibson is more than worth what they pay him. The big mess would be if the Bulls traded Gibson to get cap space and failed to get Melo or LeBron or eventually, Love. That would be bad.

Eh, at this point...losing Gibson for nothing wouldn't really put a major dent in how this team's future looks to my eyes.

I'm not debated whether Melo is better than Boozer. That is obvious. But it is interesting Thibs has a man crush on Melo considering the way Melo has been known to play on the defensive end.

Maybe it is one reason why the Thibs to NY rumors never seem to go away, and why even though he tries to make it look like the rumors are silly, Thibs never says it won't happen.

IMO, if Gar/Pax ever even consider letting Thibs out of his contract, JR needs to rid himself of Gar/Pax.

Just to be clear, I wasn't talking about Boozer v. Melo overall, just defensively. Boozer actually does TRY defensively but he is slow and not very instinctual. I think if Melo was demanded to perform on the D end he'd respond and be a really good D player if that was the teams identity.

Who cares about having a mediocre Bulls team? I guess you don't.

He wasn't tight w/LBJ and didn't recruit him. He's tight with some of the other stars about to come up and you can bet your ass they have talked about playing together. This is a non story.

That is zero proof of actual recruiting.

Can't find the SI article, but there's this....

Then there is this: Love told SI.com that during last summer's World Championship in Turkey he had conversations with USA Basketball teammates Russell Westbrook (who played with Love at UCLA) and Derrick Rose about the possibility of someday teaming up in the NBA. Oklahoma City's Westbrook and Chicago's Rose are also permitted to sign extensions this summer.

"We all talk about playing together," Love said. "It's fun to talk about. When the time comes, we'll a##ess the situation and figure it out."

I'm so glad LeBron/Durant have each other to measure themselves against, get motivated for, etc. MJ is the GOAT. But imagine if he had an equal or damn near an equal? He had nobody to push him to even greater heights.

Well there was debate with Drexler and then MJ pantsed him and became a God after that

Caught the tail end of OKC's righteous W in Miami- does ESPN have a woman sideline reporter that sounds exactly like Marv Albert, or was that just Marv Albert up to his old shenanigans?

Maybe Doris Burke?

You just dissed Larry Bird and Magic Johnson...

And the reason MJ seemed to have no equal was because he's the GOAT. As for LeBron, as good as he is, he still hasn't touched MJ level of greatness and the gap between him and Durant isn't really that wide IMO.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, Durant will surpass LBJ as the best player in the NBA within the next couple of years.
